Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he Should take ye Said Hannah Breedy of Stepney Parish Spinstress if &c to answer &c and afterwards in ye Same ^Court^ Came the Said Hannah Breedy in Custody of the Sherr and thereupon the Said Hannah Breedy being by the Sherr Sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demaned how she would acquitt herselfe of the Premisses afd says that of the premisses afd she is guilty thereof and is willing to pay thirty Shillings for her fine for the fact afd &c but Refuse to declare the father of her Child afd &c Wherefore the Said Hannah Breedy is fined to his Lordship the Lord proprietary the Sum of thirty Shillings for the fact to be appropriated toward the defraying of the County Charge &c thereupon the Said Hannah Breedy is ordered to give Security for the paym.t of the fine afd and all the Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd &c thereupon Jno Caldwell of Somersett County Gent undertakes for the Said Hannah Breedy for the paym.t of the fine afd and all the Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd &c
Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he Should take the said Thomas Mumford if &c to answer &c and afterwards in the Same Court Came the Said Thomas Mumford and being Sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses ^afd^ prays that for the Insuffiency of the Presentm.t afd it may be quashed &c Whereupon all and Singular the Premisses afd being Considered Its thereupon Ordered by the Court that the Presentmt afd be quashed and that the Said Thomas Mumford goe thereof acquitt he paying the Severall officers their fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd &c
Whereupon the said Andrew Thompson in his Own proper person appears and being demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd Says that of the premisses afd he is not guilty thereof and for tryal puts himselfe upon the Country and Levin Gale his Lordships attorney Likewise thereupon the Said Andrew Thompson prays Leave untill next Court to make further answer &c and it is granted him and ye same day is given unto the afd Levin Gale his Lordships attorney (who for his said Lordship in this Behalfe prosecutes) also Att which said next Court (to) |
