       March Court           1725                        97

Whereas a Certain Mary Pine had made Complaint to Novem Co this Court against her Mistress
Jane Donelson Widdow and was not returned home to her said Misteresses Service &c

          It's thereupon Ordered by the Court that the Said Mary Pine Return home to her said
Mistress till next June Court and if She have any Complaint to make She may ^then^ appear
and She Shall be heard &c


    Alexander Adams appears here in Court and Brings his Servant Mary MccClannell into Court
and prays the Courts Judgm.t Concerning the Said Mary MccClannells absenting her Selfe
unlawfully Out of his Service fifty days the which he makes Oath and prays the Court may
Proceed according to Law &c    Whereupon the Premisses being Considered by the Court it's
thereupon ordered by the Court that the Said Mary Macclennell return home in^to^ her Said
masters Service and Serve him his heirs or assignes six full months to Commence from
the Expiration of her Servitude already Commenced being adjudged full Satisfaction for
all Costs Charges and troubles for the runaway time afd &c

     To the worshipfull Justices of Somersett County Court the Petition of William
Planner Sheweth that your Petitioner hath an Old negro that through age and Infirmity
       of body is become Useless and not able to yearn his bread therefore prays he may be Sett Tax Free
       and as in duty bound shall pray

                      The Petition afd being Read and heard and the Premisses Considered   Its thereupon ordered
       by the Court that the Said Negro be for the future tax free as by the Pet.n afd is praid &c

       Lewis Rigsby brings a negro Girle ^Called Fenda^ into Court and prays the Court may give their Judgm.t in
       Relation to her age &c  Whereupon the Court do adjudge the Said Negro Girle to be of the age of
       Nine Years &c

We of the grand Jury on Our Oaths do present that Isabell Eaton Spinster Late
of Stepney Parish for bearing a bastard Child Some time in June Last
Abraham Cordery Informer                                                       Edward Rownd foreman
          Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he Should take the
       Said Isabell Eaton of Stepney Parish if &c to answer &c and afterwards in the Same Court
       Came the Said Isabel Eaton in Custody of the Sherr of Somersett County and being by the Said
       Sherr Sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how She would acquitt herselfe of
       the Premisses afd says that of the premisse afd She is Guilty thereof and puts herselfe in mercy
       of the Court And makes oath that a Certain Jn.o Ryle is the Begetter of the Child She Stands presented
       for but hath not wherewithall to pay her fine for the fact afd &c
