91 sailor Return home into his Said Masters service and serve out his Indented time according to agreement and the Said Indenture is by the Court adjudged a good Indenture &c And It is thereupon Ordered by the Court that the Said Jeffr'y Long give good security for the use of the Said Jno Sailer In Case he doth not Comply with the Indentures afd and Lett the Said Jno Sailor and Catherine his wife goe free at the Expiration of four years servitude mentioned in the Indenture afd &c Thereupon the said Jeffery Long Present in Court acknowledged himselfe to be Indebted unto the Said John Sailor in twenty pounds Sterlling and Jno Caldwell and William Planner present in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the said Jn.o Sailor in the Sum of ten pounds Sterling Each to be Levied on their Bodys goods or Chattells Lands or tenements for the Use of the Said Jno Saylor In Case the Said Jeffery Long do not Comply with the Indenture af and discharge the Said John Sayler and Catherine his wife at the End of the four years service mention'd in the Same Indenture and Lett them goe Free &c Ordered by the Court that James Weatherly be overseer of the road in Nanticoke hundred in from quantico Mill to Baron Creek Mill &c Ordered by the Court that John Hoofington be Overseer of the road from the Bridge in Nanticoke Marshes that Leads to Lame's ferry to Ricketts Road above Spring hill Chappell and that the road from baron Creek mill to Tusekey branch be Lett fall &c Ordered by the Court that Nathaniel Waller be overseer of the road from Tusekey Branch to Windsors Bridge over Broad Creek and that Mr Jno Caldwell appoint the Labourers between the said Waller and Jn.o Hoofington &c
Keep a free ferry at the Place afd for the use of Somersett County (he finding a good and Sufficient boat and give good attendance thereto that may be Suitable for the ferry afd) after the rate of two thousand pounds of tobo p year to be paid at the Laying of the County Levey &c
being present in Court to Keep a free ferry over Pocomoke River at Snow hill and to find a good & sufficient boat fitting to ferry fe horse and man without danger Bei that have Occasion to pass and repass over the Said ferry and to give good attendance thereto In consideration whereof the said Mary Martin is to be allowed after the rate of three thousand pounds of tobo p year And further it is agreed between the Court and the Said Mary Martin that the Over Seer that Clears the road down to Snow hill ferry on this side Pocomoke River With his Labourers Shall Keep the Causway that Leads to (the) |
