See a Small mark.d pine Standing on y.e north side of a ridge Comonly then Called
Middle ridge & then allow'd by us boyes to be John Kirks mark'd tree & appear'd to
be Lately Markd and further Saith not

By Vertue of a Commission to us Directed bearing date y.e 19th day of Nov in y.e tenth
year of his Lordships Dominion & in ye year of our Lord God one thousand seven
Hundred & twenty five by y.e Justices of Somersett County pursuant to y.e abovementioned
Act of Assembly we the Subscribers being Sworn according to the
Dirrection of that Act as appears by y.e Indorsment on the said Commission
having given due Notice as the Law requires in Such Cases went on the spott
Mention'd in y.e aboves.d Deposition & there y.e aboves.d Oaths on y.e Holy Evenglist
of Almighty God to y.e truth of what is abovementioned this 29th of January 1725/6

Which pine appears Standing on y.e north side of Middle ridge on a flatt
peace of Ground mark'd w.th Sixteen Notches & a whole on y.e north East side
of the s.d tree as if there had been & stump rotten out there   Tho.s William

A road

           To the worshipfull Justices of Somersett County Now in Court Sitting the
petition of abraham Smith humbly Sheweth      that your Petitioner Craves
the favour to have a publick Road through a Swamp Called by the Name of Aaron's Swamp upon
the Seaboard Side being noe was Prejudiciall to any Neighbouring People but very Convenient
for all People to Church and markett and your Petitioner as in duty bound Shall Ever pray

          The Petition afd being read and heard and the Premisses Considered that Adam Spence
It's thereupon Ordered by the Court that Adam Spence Jun.r with his Labourers Clear the One
halfe of the road that Leads through the Swamp afd and that James Mumford with his Labourers
Clear the Other halfe of the road through the ^said^ Swamp afd &c

       To the worshipfull Court of Justices of Somersett County now in Court Sitting
the Pet.n of John Sailor humbly Sheweth that your Petitioner Bound himselfe
to Jeffry Long for four Years to pay all my debts and when the debts Came on
             me I went and wrought till they were Complyed with and hath not found him any Cloaths but
       Still hould your Petitioner a Servant and Prays your worships Judgm.ts whether he Shall Serve
       the full time or not and your Petitioner Shall as in duty Bound Ever pray      Jno Sailor

                      The Pet.n afd being Read and heard and the Premisses Considered and the Severall allegations
       weighed and mature deliberation thereupon had as well on the Part of the Petitioner as on the
       part of the Said Jeffery Long &c     Its thereupon Ordered by the Court that the Said Jeffery John
