1725 80 of assembly in such Cases made Robert Givans of Somersett County Aged about fifty five years Sworn and Exammined on the part of the Said William Alexander Saith as followeth vizt That about twenty five years ^agoe^ by order of George Godard sen.r Late of the County afd Deced the Deponent Layed ^out^ of a tract of Land (belonging to the s.d George Called Wallace) fifty aires for a Certain Griffing Jones & Mary his wife one of the Daughters of the same George the first Bounder of which s.d fifty Aires was a Stake Standing Near to a Marked oath which Stead about forty yards to the westward of the South End of a Line which is now between the fence of the Rev.d M.r Allexander Adams & the fence of William Allexander & further Saith Not Peter Sirmon of Somersett County Aged about fifty three years Sworn & ^Examined^ Examind on the part of the said William Alexander Saith as followeth viz.t that about twenty years ago the Depon.t Cleared the roads about the stead of Wic^a^comoco Creek under William Alexander & that he will remembers that the Main Road from the mill at the Head of the said Creek down the s.d Creek & Also to the head of Manocan Run about forty yards to the West^w^ard of the fence which is on the west Side of the Lane that is between the revd Alexander Adams & the afd WIlliam Alexander & that Near the East Side of the s.d road there was a Line of Marked trees which the Depont hath Been Creditably Informed was the Line that Divided George Godard of Somersett County Aged about thirty Nine Sworn & Examined on behalfe of Alexander Adams & William Alexander Deposeth & saith viz.t that about twenty years ago by order of his Decd father George Godard he Marked a Spanish Oak Standing on a point of an Island by the branch side of Weccocomoco Creek a Little below the Mill for y.e third Bounder of that part of a percell Land Called Mummoth that was taken out of Winsor for Griffin Jones & Mary his wife & that the first bounder of that part of Mummoth which was taken out of Wallace Chance Stood within a yard or two of a Hicory Marked with Sixteen Notches which Stands Near the South End of a Lane that is between the fence of William Alexander & Alexander Adams and further Saith Not John Godard of Somersett County aged about thirty six years Sworn & Examined on behalf of the rev.d Alexander Adams & William Alexander Deposeth & saith viz.t that the first Bounder of that part of of Land Called Mounmouth which was Taken out of a Tract of Land Called Wallace Chance Stood within a yard or two of a Hicory Marked with Sixteen Notches which Stands Near the South End of Lane which Devides the fence of the afd Alexander Adams from the fence of the afd W.m Alexander & further Saith Not We the said Com.r in the Com.n afd mentioned do hereby further Certifie that the within Named Alexander adams and William Alexander at the takeing the above depositions did agree that the hicory afore mentioned standing at the south End of the Lane between the fence of the said Adams and Will.m Allexander should be the first (bounder) |
