(53) said Francis Wittson if &c to answer &c and afterwards in the Same Court Comes the Sherr of Somersett County and brings in the Said Wattson to answer &c and being by the Sherr Sett to the bar and Information Read is there upon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses afd says that of the premisses afd She is guilty thereof and prays that She may be admitted to make fine to the Lord proprietary for the fact Wherefore It is Considered by the Justices here that the Said Frances Watson be fined to his Said Lordship the Lord proprietary the Sum of thirty Shillings for the fact afd Which fine was paid down in Court by a Certain Luke Watson to Capt Jn.o Jones, thereupon it's Ordered by the Court that the Said Frances Watson give Security to Keep Endempnifyed and Save Harmless Somersett County from all troubles that might accrew by meanes of the Said Child and Likewise for the paym.t of the Severall Officers fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd Whereupon the afd Luke Watson Present here in Court Acknowledged himselfe to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the Lord proprietary his heirs and Successors in the sum of forty pounds Sterling to be Levied upon his body goods and Chattells Lands and Tenem.ts for the use of his Said Lordship In Case that the County of Somersett is Kept free and Clear from all burthens and Incumbrances that may accrew by means of the said Child afd and Likewise to pay the severall Officers their fees due by Occasion of the premises afd &c
four at the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court Committed fornication with a Certain person Frances Wattson against the Peace &c and also against the form of the act of assembly in Such Case made &c wherefore the Same Levin for the said Lord proprietary prays advisment of the Court herein the premises and that due process of Law may Issue &c Levin Gale Cler Indictmts Whereupon the said Jacob Hill in his Own proper person appears and being by the Sherr Sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd says that of the premisses afd upon him Imposed he is guilty thereof and puts himselfe in Mercy of the Lord proprietary and is Willing to pay thirty Shillings for the fact afd Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the Said Jacob Hill be fined to his Said Lordship the Lord proprietary the sum of thirty shillings for the fact afd which said thirty Shillings is paid down in Court to Capt John Jones thereupon it's ordered by the Court that the said Jacob Hill give Security for the paym.t of the severall Officers their Fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd Whereupon a Certain Abraham Hill of Somersett County Planter present herein Court undertakes for the Said Hacob Hill to pay the severall officers their fees due by occasion of the premisses afd &c |
