50 then next to answer unto his Lordship Concerning a bill of Indictm.t against them found &c and that thereof he should not fail &c Att which said third tuesday of August to witt the seventeenth day of the same month anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and twenty five being the day of the return of the said Writt Cometh the Sherr of Somersett County to whom the foregoeing Writt was directed & maketh return thereof to the Court here Endorsed in these words vizt Cepi Corpus p Jos: MccClester sherr Whereupon the afd Robert Harris, Abigail Keeble and Ann Vance all in their Own proper person appears (Indictm.t Read) Pleads guilty and puts themselves in Mercy of the Lord proprietary and prays that they may be admitted to make fine to the said Lord proprietary for the fact afd Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices ^here^ that the afd Robert Harris be find to his Lordship the Lord proprietary the sum of two hundred pounds of tobacco for the fact afd and that the afd Abigail Keable & and Ann Vannce be fined to the said Lord proprietary the Sum of One hundred pounds of tobacco Each for the fact afd thereupon the Said Robert Harris, Abigail Keeble & Ann Vannce are all committed into the Custody of the Sherr of Sumersett County there to remaine untill such time as they pay the fine afd the said Sherr present ^here in Court^ took Charge of the Said Robert Harris, Abigail Keeble and ann Vannce accordingly and also ^it is ordered^ that they make restitution unto the afd Jno Fleming of all that Messuage and tract of Land with the appurtenances Called Unity so as afd Expelled & putt out &c Thereupon they are ordered to give security for all the Officers fees due by Occasion of the premises afd Whereupon the said Robert Harris undertakes for himselfe abigail Keeble and Ann Vannce to pay the severall Officers their fees due by occasion of the premises afd &c
Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he Should take the said Ann Barton if she should be found in his Bailywick and her should Safe Keep so that y he ^might^ have her Body Before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somersett to be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday of Aug.t Next to answer unto his Lordship Concerning a Certain Presentm.t against her found &c and that thereof he should not fail &c Att which said third tuesday of august to witt the seventeenth day of the same month anno Dom One thousand seven hundred & twenty five being the day of the return of the said Writt Cometh the Said Sherr to whom the foregoeing Writt was directed Likewise Cometh & Maketh return thereof to the Court here Endorsed in these words viz.t Cepi Corpus p Jos: MccClester Sherr Whereupon the said Ann Barton in her Own proper person appears (presentmt read) pleads Guilty and putts herselfe in Mercy of the Lord proprietary &c And for as much as it doth appear to (the) |
