39 The Condition of the Above Obligation is Such That if the above Bound Catherine Jones her heirs Exrs of Admrs Do well and Truely Pay or Cause to be paid unto the above sd James, John, Ann, Jane, Betty, Priscilla, and Mathias Jones, Orphans as afd Their Heirs Exrs Admrs or assignes the full and Just Sum of Nineteen pounds Nine Shillings and five pence Being the Just Ballance due to Each of Them from their said fathers Estate when they shall attain to full age According to Act of assembly then the Above Obligation to Be Void Otherways to remain in full force and Vertue her mark Sealed and Delivered Catherine Jones (seal) In Presence of Thomas Hayward Thomas Dashiell (seal) William Taylor John Jones (seal)
Allen his attorney Complaines that whereas the said John Hudson is a good true faithfull and honest Liege Subject of Our Lord the King that now is and as Such from the time of his Nativity hitherto hath behaved and demeaned himselfe and from all Kind of theft Larceny Felony or any Such wicked and base Crime or any blott or Suspition of the Same hath Lived behaved held and Governed himself and of Good name fame Estimation and Creditt by the whole Time afd was held & reputed and Called Nevertheless the said John Onorton Being not Ignorant of the Premisses but Envying the Happy Estate and Condition of the Said John Hudson, and Maliciously Plotting and Intending him the Said John Hudson in his Good Name fame Creditt and Estimation afd to hurt & Detract and him the Said John Hudson into Trouble Vexiation and Infamy to Induce and to Cause him the said John Hudson Innocently to be brought Into danger of forfeiting fourfold suffering Corporall Punishment and the Pillory as the Law in Such Cases directs the Twenty sixth day of September Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and Twenty four at allhollows Parish in Somersett County afd within the Juri of this Court haveing Communication and Speech with him in the said John Hudson, Jun.r In the Presence and hearing of Sundry faithfull Liege Subjects of Our Lord the King these falce Infamous Scandalous and Approbrious words and Lyes with an Audible Voice to and of him the Said John Hudson Maliciously did Pronounce assert rehearse Publish and Speech Vizt You (speaking to & meaning the Said John Hudson stole my young two year old Brown Could (Meaning the Coult of him (the) |
