Belonging to Geo Hutchins but now in ye hands and possession of M.r Jno Handy) to which place it has been the Custom not only of your petitioner but of all the upper part of ye Inhabetance of Stepney Parish to Carry & deliver the ^their^ goods to persons who have formerly don & still frequently do use to Com^Come^ and be those vessells to trade & also that ye Way to ye sd Landing has been a publick Road for the disinters to go to their Religious worship ever since their having had for that purpose a meeting hous Built near ye sd Landing which has been by the space of time afd in w.ch they have never been Interrupted but Since ye Late possession of ye afd Handy of ye afd Slip of Land afd who has now Stopped up ye said road to ye sd Landing (as well as to ye meeting house) to ye disadvantage of your petitioner therefore prays to be relieved as is in your worships Power & your petitioner Shall pray &c Jos Venables The Petition afd being Read and heard and Premisses Considered It's thereupon ordered by the Court that the Pet.nr have Liberty to Clear a road from the ferry Road over wickacomoco River near the Plantation of Mr Jnr Handy to the Presbitarian Meeting hous standing Near the said River and that the said New Road to be Cleared as afd be Cleared according to the Direction of Thomas Humphrys and Adam Hitch the most Nearest and of Least of Prejudice to any person &c Moll a negro woman belonging to Ann Bozman had is ordered by the Court to be tax free for the future &c Ordered by the Court that George Dashiell of Somersett County Gent Clear a road from the upper ferry Road (over wickacomoco River) to a Landing on Wickacomoco Creek Opposite to Coll Gales Dwelling Plantation &c Ordered that Coll Levin Gale Clear a road from the Main Road to W.m Robinson Landing on Wickacomoco Creek &c
Such relief as to you Shall Seem Meet & he as in Duty Bound will pray Peter Swell The Petition afd being Read and heard and all and Singular the Premisses Considered as well on the Part of the afd Rowland Beavins (who was present in Court) as on the part of the Petitioner and forasmuch as the said Rowland Beavins did not produce any Instrument of writing or Indenture whereby |
