1726 266 full term or time afd In consideration of which service the afd Joseph Standford undertakes for to Learn the afd Rickson Christopher the trad^e^ of a Shoemaker and tanner and to read the bible and to give him a three Year old heifer and a new Suite of Cloaths at the Expiration of his servitude afd &c Whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the afd Joseph Standford give security to Comply with the Covenants afd thereupon the said Joseph Standford with George Dashiel of Somersett County Gentmn his security present here in Court acknowledged themselves to Owe and be Indebted unto the said Rickson Christopher his heirs or assignes in the sum of ten pounds sterling mony Joyntly and Severally to be made and Levied upon their bodys goods or Chattells Lands and tenements for the use of the said Rickson Christopher his heirs and assignes if default be made in the Condition hereunder written The Condition of the above Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Joseph Standford do dureing the servitude of the afd Rickson Christopher Learn him the trade of a shoemaker and tanner and to Read the bible and to give him at the Expiration of his servitude a three Year Old heifer and a new Suite of Cloaths and to find and provide for his said servent sufficient Meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing dureing his servitude mete for such an apprentice to have and weare &.c then this Recognizance to be void otherwise &c
time afd the afd Levin Gale and John Tunstall and present herein Court promiseth for themselves and the said Edward North that they will Learn him dureing his servitude ^afd^ as much of that Part of Navigation as may be sufficient to Navigate a Ship or Vessell from one Port to an other and to Keep him Constantly to the sea and to find and provide for him Meat drink washington Lodging and Cloathing dureing his servitude afd &c mete for such an apprentice to have and wear whereupon it is Ordered by the Court that the afd Levin Gale and John Tunstall give security for to Comply with the Covenants afd Thereupon the said Levin Gale and Jno Tunstall undertakes for themselves and the afd Edward North and acknowledged themselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the said Giddion Tilman in the Sum of twenty pounds sterr good and Lawfull mony of England to be Levied upon their bodys goods or Chattells Lands or tenements for the use of the said Giddion Tilman his heirs and assignes [illegible] it happen default be made in the Condition hereunto written The Condition of the above Recognizance is such that if the above bound Levin Gale Jno Tunstall and Edward North do well and truely Learn the afd Giddion Tilman dureing his servitude afd ^as much of^ that part of Navigation as may be Sufficient to Navigate a Ship or Vessell from the one port to an other and Keep him Constantly to the sea and do find and provide for him dureing his servitude afd meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing mete for such an apprentice to have and wear then the above recogn to be void &c |
