265 Whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the Sherr of Somersett County to witt Francis Allen Gent: make Return of a pannell of Grand Jurors to Enquire for the body of Somersett County thereupon the said sherr Returns a pannel of grand Jurors as followeth vizt William Lane John Townsend Jun.r Moses Driskill W.m Bowler Lewis Jones John Waller John Howington Thomas Humphry's Thomas Walker And.w Collins, John Fleming, Thomas Pointer James Mumford John Purnall Wm Bratton David Hazzard Daniel Cordery John Dennis Sen.r John Trehearn Thomas Billings Joseph Wailes Philip Quinton thereupon proclamation being made by the Cryer in Common form &c the Jurors afd so as afd Impannelled being severally called over by their names do appear as above and thereupon they are Sworn to Enquire for the body of the County afd and are Charged and sent Out to Consider &c Soon after the grand Jurors afd being Impannelled sworn and Charged as afd Return into Court and ^being^ severally Called over and were asked if they had made any Presentm.t or found any Bills of Indictm.t Return presentment against Joshua Edge Eliza Logey Peter Fitzgerrell and Bill of Indictmt against W.m George being Content that the Court should amend form altering noe matter of Substance in them thereupon the grand Jurors were accordingly discharged and ordered that they be allowed five hundred pds of tobacco for their Publick service this Court to be paid next Levey Court and against the afd Joshua Edge and Eliza Logey so as afd presented it is ordered that Capias Issue Returnable here to next august Court &c Upon the Pet.n of severall of the Inhabitants of Somersett County to have a road Cleared in Naswatux neck by the Plantation of Cornelus Dickson into the main Road &c Its ordered by the Court that Capt John Scott and Mr Francis Allen go and Law Out a road by the Plantation of Cornelius Dickenson ^afd^ to the main Road the nearest and best way and of the Least Prejudice to any person and to make their Report to Next Court &c
Pence whereupon the said Comfort Aires admrx of the afd Henry Aires is ordered by the Court to give security according to Law for that part due to the orphans afd Thereupon the afd Comfort Aires together with John Scarbrough and Mathew Hopkins her securitys all present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to owe and be Indebted unto Ann, John, Henry, Harrison and Mathew Aires orphans of the said Henry Aires dec.d in the sum of one hundred and sixty six pounds ten shillings and Eight pence Currt |
