264 Richard Crockett makes Chose of the afd Robert Crockett as his guardiant thereupon Its ordered by the Court that the afd Rob.t Crockett take all the Estate of the said Richard Crocketts into his Care both Real and personall and that he give security according to Law in Relation to guardian's &c Daniel a negro ^boy^ belonging to Benj.a Burton is adjudged by the Court to the age of ten Years &c George Howard appointed overseer of the Roads in the stead of Saml Derickson for the Ensueing Year &c
that whereas there was formerly an Indian Bridge Over dividing Creek in the County afd on which the boundarys of a tract Land belonging to your Petitioner Called Mitchels adventure depends which said bridge is destroyed and the wittnesses to prove where it stood Ancient your petitioner therefore prays your worships to appoint Commissioners to Examine Evidences wittnesses to Perpetuate the Place where the said Bridge stood according to the form of the act of assembly in Such Case made &.c and your petitioner as in duty bound will pray Richard Knight The petition afd being Read and heard and the Premisses Considered It's thereupon Ordered by the Court that a Commissioner Issue as by the Pet.n afd is pray and that John Scott Will.m Handy Robert Mitchell and Peter Benton ^of somersett County Gent^ be Commissioners and Execute the same Commission according to act of assembly in Such Case made and provided &c Joseph MccClester of Somersett County Gent Comes into Court and brings with him his serv.t man Called John White who had Run away and absented himselfe forty days out of his service and Likewise produced an account of four hundred and Eighty pounds of tobacco for taking the said John White up and Other Charge as appears by the same acco.t And prays the Court that the said John White may be adjudged to serve according to act of assembly in Such Case made and provided Whereupon the said Jno White Present herein Court acknowledged the Same Runaway time to be Justly due thereupon the said John White is adjudged by the Court to Serve his said Master Joseph MccClester five days for Every day he absented himselfe out of his Masters Service which amounts to two hundred days &.c and for the afd four hundred and Eighty pounds of tobo paid for takeing up and Other Charge the said John White is adjudged to serve his said Master six months or Eigh One hundred and Eighty days which said Service as afd ^adjudged^ for the Runaway time and tobacco paid doth amount in the whole to three hundred and Eighty days the said service to Commence at the Expiration of the said John White's already servitude &c |
