258 Merrick Ellis of Somersett County Gent Comes into Court in his proper person and makes Oath that his servant woman Named Elizabeth White had absented herselfe out of his service one hundred days and prays the same Court that she may be adjudged to serve him for the same Runaway time according to act of assembly in such Case made and provided whereupon the premisses by the Court being Considered It is therefore ordered and adjudged by the Court that the afd Eliza White serve her said Master Merrick Ellis the full time of two whole years and a halfe to Commence at the Expiration of her now servitude the said two years and a halfe's Service being by the Court adjudged full Satisfaction for all runaway time afd Costs Charges and troubles in her Sickness and tobacco paid on acco.t of the same &c
one thousand Seven hundred and Twenty Six at the place afd in the County afd with force and armes in and upon a Certain Peter Fitzgerrell in the peice of god ^and^ &.c being did make an assault and affray and him the said Peter Fitzgerrell then and there with force and Armes did beat wound and Evill intreat so that he did Dispair of his life and other harmes unto him did to the great Damage of the said Peter Fitzgerrell and against the peace &c Dashiell Cl of Indictments on the Back side of the foregoeing bill of Indictm.t it was thus Endorsed vizt J Bella vera Jos MccClester Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he should take the said Aaron Jordine if &c to answer &c and afterwards in the same Court Came the said Aaron Jordine and being by the Sherr Sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd says that of the premisses afd he is guilty thereof and putts himselfe upon the favour of the Court and is willing to pay his fine for the fact afd Therefore it is Considered by the Court that the afd Aaron Jordine be taken to Satisfie the said Lord proprietary of his fine by occasion of the trespass and assault afd; and the fine of the same Aaron Jordine is by the Justices taxed to six pence to the use of his said Lordship thereupon the said Aaron is discharged paying the fine afd and the severall Officers their fees due by occasion of ye Premisses &c |
