221 being by the Court here seen heard and mature deliberation therupon had &.c wherefore it is Considered that the afd Mary Wilkerson Return home into the service of her said Masks Thomas Dashiell and serve out her Indented time as by the same Indenture is Expressed; and further the Same Indenture of the afd Mary Wilkerson is adjudged good &c The Reverend Thomas Fletcher Comes into Court and makes Oath that his Servant woman Named Ann Barton had absented and Runaway Out of his Service twenty Eight days and that he had paid four four hundred pounds of tobo for takeing her up and Likewise that he had been at other Charge & trouble after her when Runaway and prays that she may be adjudged to serve for the same according to Law &c whereupon the Court having Considered the premisses Its thereupon ordered by the Court that the afd Ann Barton serve her said Master Thomas Fletcher his heirs or assignes six days for our Every day she absented herselfe out of service afd which amounts in the whole to one hundred and sixty Eight days as also the Said Ann Barton is adjudged by the Court to serve her said Master for the afd four hundred pounds of tobo paid and other Charge and trouble whilst Runaway one hundred and Ninty seven days &c which said service adjudged for runaway time and Charge and trouble in takeing ^up^ amounts to in the whole to one full year to Contain three hundred and sixty five days ^which^ is adjudged by the Court for full satisfaction for the Runaway time Costs Charges and trouble as afd which service afd adjudged is to Commence at the Expiration of her already servitude &c
the above fact James Rownd foreman Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he Should take the afd Marcy Stevens if &c to answer &c And afterwards here in Court to witt the third tuesday of march being the twenty first day of the Same month Cometh the afd March Stevens and being by the Sherr sett to the barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt for herselfe of the premises afd says she is guilty thereof and prays that she may be admitted to make fine to his said Lordship the Lord proprietary for the fact afd and thereof puts her selfe in mercy of the said Lord proprietary &c Wherefore it is Considered by the Court that the afd Marcy Stevens be take to satisfie of the said Lord proprietary of her fine by occasion of the premisses afd and the same Marcy Stevens is by the Justices fined to thirty shillings toward the defraying of the County Charge and is ordered to give security for the fine afd and all the officers their fees due by Means of the premises thereupon W.m Both of Somersett County Gent present herein Court pays the fine afd and undertakes for the fees afd &c |
