Some years agoe he told ye afd Cox of a marked white oak standing as
afd & ye s.d Cox told him that was the first Bounder of a tract of Land
taken up By Cornelias Johnson Called Coxes Choyce
Given under our hands this 28th day of Janry 1726/7

       Whereas Mad.m Mary Hampton having turned the Road that Leads from towards
Wm Handys to the Court house for the Conveniency of making a pasture and Cleared
a new Road   Whereupon a Certain Robert King of Somersett County Gent prays the
Court that the afd New Road Cleared by the afd Mary Hampton May be ordered to be
the County Road and that the Old Road may be stoped &c

          And for as much as severall of the Justices had viewed the afd New Road
thought it very good and that the same was Like so to remaine &c

                                  Thereupon Its ordered by the Court that the afd New Road
be deemed and adjudged the County Road instead of the Old one she making it good and
passable if Ever it should Chance to be bad &c

    Solomon Tull appointed overseer to Clear a bridle Path from Back Creek wading
place up to a tree Called Girdle tree standing on a ridge Called half moon Ridge

             Upsher King appointed Overseer in the stead of Stephen Odear and Likewise
to Clear a road bridle path from where Solomon Tull Leaves of and End at the former
Limitts being about three quarters of a mile from Abranch Called Stephenses branch

    Lazarus Maddox and Thomas Newbold to Clear a bridle path to begin where upsher
King Leaves of and to Clear into the road that Leads to the Court house &c

       Nan a negro Girle of Thomas Bells is adjudged by the Court to be of the age of fourteen
years &c

                               Pompey a negro Boy of Stephen Wards is adjudged to the age of
fourteen years &c

                               David Brown an orphan Came into Court and prays that forasmuch
as he is of full age for the Choseing his guardian he may be admitted to Chose
a Certain Mary Brown of Somersett County Gentlewoman his Guardian which is Granted &.c

          Whereupon the said David Brown makes Chose of the said David Brown as his
                                                                                                                   Guardian
