214 may or ought to Enquire by whomesoever or howsoever of in our County afd Done or Committed or which may hereafter hapen to be done or attempted & also of all those who in our County afd in riotous manner have gone or rode or shall hereafter presume to go or ride with armed force against out peace to y.e Disturbance of our people & of all such who in our County afd have Lain or shall hereafter presume to lye in wait to main or kill any of our s.d People & also of all ordinary Keepers & such other persons who have offended or attempted to offend of hereafter shall presume to offend or attempt attempte to offend in y.e abuse of weights or Measure or in selling of any Lquors according to y.e forme of y.e acts of assembly for y.e Common good & profitt now in this province made & used & also of the sheriffs Bailiffs Constables and other officers who have or shall hereafter Misbehave themselves in y.e Execution of their offices or have been fearfull remise or Negligent in y.e Execution thereof or shall hereafter happen so to be within our County afd & of all & Every y.e articles Matters & things whatsoever howsoever or by whomesoever in our County afd done or Committed or that shall hereafter happen to be done or attempted Concerning y.e premises or any of them & to Inspect all Indictments so before you or any of you taken or to be taken or before our Late Justices of y.e peace within our s.d County had & taken & not yett Determined & process thereon against all or any person or persons so Indicted or which shall Continue untill they shall be taken surrender themselves or be out Lawed & to hear & determine all & Every y.e Felonies Witchcrafts Enchantments Sorceries arts Magick Trespasses Forestallings regratings riots Indictments & all other y.e Matters afd according to y.e Laws of great Brittan & this our Province had & used or to be had & used & y.e said Deliquents & Every of them to Chastize & Punish by Fines ransoms Amerciaments Forfeitures & Otherwise according to y.e Laws & Customes of y.e s.d Kingdom & province & y.e form of Statutes & acts of assembly thereof had & used or to be had & used But we will not y.t you proceed in any y.e Cases afd to take Life or member But yt in Every Such Case you Send y.e prisoners with their Indictments & y.e whole matters depending before you to our Justices of our Next Prov.ll Court to be held for this our province be it whensoever or wheresoever to be holden thereto be tryed & we Command you & Every of you diligently to Intend y.e Keeping the Peace Ordinances and Statutes and all and Every y.e premisses and |
