Immediately he Cause to Come here twelve &.c by whom &.c who Neither &.c ^to recognize &c^ because as well &c of which
said Preceipt the said Sherr to witt Francis Allen Gent Now hereat this day to witt the Same day and
year Last mentioned makes Return that he hath here Ready twelve &.c as by his said preceipt he
was Commanded and now hereafterwards to witt the Same day and Year Came as well the afd Plft
as the afd Deft by their attorneys afd and the Jurors of that Jury therein Impannelled being Called
Likewise Came to witt John Donelson, Lewis Beard, Peter Frazer, W.m Smith, Wm Laws, John Fleming
John Larimore John Read Tipquin, Teague Riggin, John Davis, William Bratton, George Taylor who
being duely Elected tryed and Sworn ^to say the truth in the premises^ upon their Oath do say that the afd Anthony detained from the
afd William the afd negro boy Named Ishmael in manner and form as the same William above agt
him Complained and further say upon their Oath that the afd Negro Boy Named Ishmael is of the
value of twenty pounds Curr.t money and the Same Jurors do assess the damages of the Same Will.m
by Occasion of the premisses beyound his Costs and Charges by him about his Suite in that part
Expended to One penney and for those Costs and Charges to One pounds of tobo

                               Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here the fifteenth day of Novem
ann.o Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty Six that the afd William West recover ag.t
the afd Anthony West the afd Negro Boy Named Ishmael or the afd twenty pounds Curr.t
money for value of the Same if the afd William the afd negro Boy named Ishmael Cannot
have again as also one penney for his damages afd by the Jurors afd in form afd assessed as
also Eight hundred and fifty two                                    pounds of tobo at his request for his
Costs and Charges by the Court hereof Increas adjudged which Certain Damages in the whole
do amount to                                                                        and the afd Deft in mercy &c

     Somersett fs    Catherine Dial Late of Somersett County Spinster was

attached to answer unto John Harper of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c
                         And whereupon the Same John by Levin Gale his attorney Complains that whereas
the afd Catherine the tenth day of August anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty five
at Somerset County Afors.d within the Ju.rd of this Court was Indebted to
the same John in the Sum of fifty five Bushells of Good sound
Indian Corn as by ^a^ Certain Note in Court produced may appear and so
thereof being Indebted the s.d Catherine in Consideration thereof Afterwards
To wit the same Day and Year Afors.d as the County Afors.d within the
Afors.d Ju.r upon her self assumed & to the same John Then and their
faithfully promised that she when afterwards She Should be
