 Somersett fs    Anthony West Late of Somersett County Planter
was sumoned to answer unto William West of a plea that he render
unto him One Negro Boy Names Ishmael of the price of thirty
                      pounds sterling which from him he unjustly detains &c

       And whereupon the Same William by Levin Gale his attorney saith that whereas the said
       William the tenth day of June Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty five at
       Somersett County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Possessed of One Negro Boy
       Called Ishmael of the price of thirty pounds sterling money of maryland as his proper
       negro and so thereof being Possessed, afterwards that is to say being the same day and
       year afd the afd negro at Somersett County afd within the afd Jurisdiction out of his
       hands and Possession Causually Lost which said Negro afterwards that is to say the
       same day and year afd at Somersett County afd within the afd Jurisdiction to the hands
       and Possession of the afd Anthony by finding Came and in the Possession and Custody
       of the said Anthony yett is, by which action did accrew to the said William to have
       and require of the said Anthony the negro afd ^nevertheless the said Anthony tho' often thereto requested the Negro afd^ to the Same William hath not delivered but the
       Said Anthony the said Negro to the said William hitherto to deliver hath denyed and still
       doth deny and unjustly detain whereby the same ^Will.m^ says he is worse and hath damage to the
       value of fifty pounds Curr.t mony and thereof he brings this Suite &c

       And the said Anthony West in his Own proper person Cometh and defendeth the force
       and Injury when &.c and prays Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the Next Court and he
       hath it and the Same day is given to the afd plft here also

                Att which said next Court to witt the fifteenth day of Novem Anno Dom One thousand
       Seven hundred and twenty six Came again as well the afd William West by his attorney
       afd as the afd Anthony West in his proper person and thereupon the said Anthony West
       putts in his place George Dashiell of Somersett County Gent and attorney at Law in his stead
       to act in the premisses afd and hereupon the said Anthony West by George Dashiell
       his attorney as before Defends the force and Injury when &.c and says that he is not
       Guilty of the premisses above Imposed upon him in manner and form as the plft against
       him hath Complained and of this he putts himselfe upon the Country      and the Plft
       Likewise
                                           Thereupon Command is given to the Sherr of Somersett County that
                                                                                                                                  Immediatly
