this he puts himselfe upon the Cuntry and the Plft in Like Manner

Whereupon the Said William Roberts in his Own proper person Cometh and Relinquisheth his
verification afd by him above alledged
and says that he Cannot gainsay the action afd of the Richard Wallace nor Can he Say but that
he is guilty of speaking the words Laid in the Declaration ad and that the same words were falce
and feigned and that he had wronged the same Plft &c

                Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here the Same day and year Last mentioned
that the afd Richard Wallace afd Recover against the afd William Roberts his damages afd &c as also
the sum of six hundred & sixty one                              pounds of tobacco for his Costs and Charges
by him about his suite in that part Expended by the Court here by his assent taxed & the afd deft
in mercy &c   Whereupon the afd Richard Wallace herein Court freely Remitteth all and singular the
damages by means of the action afd therefore the same William Roberts of the same Damages be thereof
acquitt &c

attached to answer unto Jn.o Dennis Jun.r of a plea of Trespass upon
the Case &c               And whereupon ye Said Jn.o Dennis P
George Dashiell his attorney Complains yt whereas ye afd Jn.o
Tilman at Pocomoke hundred within ye Jurisdiction of this Court on ye 25.th day of M
March Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred & twenty four agree with a Certain
Ann Bullingall to pay ye Charges of a Suite of Law She had been in Somrsett County
Court or Else where & ye Said Dennis being Security to a Certain Phillip Lee Sherriff
of P.r Geo: County for ye said Bullingall in ye Sum of Seven pounds Starling fees on ye s.d
Suite & ye Same Jn.o Tilman at ye time & place afd in consideration of ye Service of the sd
Ann Bullingall as they did agree did promis & assume to pay ye said Jn.o Dennis ye afd
afd Sum of Seven pounds Starling On Demand Nevertheless ye Said Tilman his promise
as afd Little regarding but Intending him ye Said Dennis to Defraud & Deceive ye afd
Sum of Seven pounds Starling unto ye Said Dennis Nor any Part thereof altho often
thereto requested he hath not paid but ye Same to pay hath Denyed & Still doth denie to ye
damage of ye said Dennis of fourteen pounds Staling & thereof he brings Suite &c
                                                                  Dashiell Pro Querr pledges &c J Doe R Roe

And the aforesaid John Tilman by Levin Gale his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury
when &c and prays Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court and he hath it and the same day
is given to the afd Plft also      Att which Said next Court to witt the twenty first day of June anno
Dom One thousand Seven hundred and Twenty Six Came again as well the afd Jn.o Dennis as the afd
John Tilman by their attorneys afd and the said John Tilman by his said attorney prays Further
Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the Next Court and he hath and the Same day is given to the afd
Plft also      Att which said Next Court to witt the Sixteenth day of August ann.o Dom One thousand
seven hundred and twenty six Came again as well the afd John Dennis as the afd John Tilman
by their attorneys afd and the said John Tilman as before defends the force and Injury when &c
and says Non assumpsitt      and ye afd plft Likewise                    thereupon Command is
given to the afd sherr of Somersett County that Immediately he Cause to Come here twelve &c by whom
