    much thereof in her hands she hath and if so much in her hands she hath not then the
    Costs of Suite afd to be Levied of the proper goods and Chattles of the afd Mary Esom &
    the afd deft in mercy &c

Attached to answer unto Thomas Pridex of a plea of Trespass
upon ye Case &c
And whereupon the Same Tho.s by Levin Gale his attorney Complains that
whereas ye afd W.m ye tenth day of August Anno Dom One thousand Seven
hundred & twenty five at Somrsett County within ye Jur of this Court was
Indebted unto the afd Thomas In ye Sum of four pounds three Shillings & Six
pence Curr.t Money of Maryland As by Acc.t here within Court produced may
Appear & So thereof being Indebted ye Same ^Will.m^ In Consideration thereof afterwards
to witt ye Same day & year afd at ye County afd within ye afd Jur upon himselfe
assumed & to ye Same Thomas then & there faithfully promised yt he when
afterwards he should be thereto requested ye afd Sum of four pounds three
Shill.s & Six pence Currt money afd to ye Same Thomas wou'd well & faithfully Content
& pay Nevertheless ye Said William his promise & assumption afd in form afd
Made Little regarding but plotting & fraudulently Intending ye afd Thomas In yt
part to Defraud & Deceive he ye Said W.m the afd Sum of four pounds three Shills &
Six pence Curr.t Money or any part thereof to ye same Thomas (although afterwards
to witt ye Same day & year afd at ye County afd within ye afd Jur he was thereto requested)
he hath not paid nor ye Same Thomas for it in anywise Contented but ye Said ye same
hitherto to doe hath altogether refused & Still doth ^refuse^ to the damage of ye Same Thomas
Eight pounds Seven Shill.s Like Money & thereof he brings this Suite &c
