131 an Indenture by which he detained the Said Petitioner as a servant and all and singular ye Court having heard their severall allegations on both Parts &c It's thereupon Considered by the Court here that the afd Harry Fitzwaters from the service of the afd William Jones be thereof acquit ant that the same Indenture by the said W.m Jones produced is not sufficient in the Law to hold ye afd Petitioner as a Servant &c
take Care of three of her Children till they arrived to age provided the Said Randall Long would Learn ym to read and write as also to do as well by them as he did by his Own Children but the Said Randall Long her Neglected and has not given the Said Children Learning but has turned the Said Children away without Learning or Scearce any Cloathing and Keeps the Other Child very bear that he has Scearce Cloathing to Keep him from the Sum therefore it is the Said Childs desire that your worships will grant him Liberty to Chose his guardian and your Petitioner as in duty Bound Shall Ever pray George Marshall The Petition afd being read and heard It's thereupon ordered by the Court that the afd Randall Long be and appear before this Court now Sitting and Likewise that he bring the afd Thomas Marshall orphan as afd to answer the Petition afd and that a Coppy of the afd order be made and Sent to be Served on the afd Randall Long &c Pursuant ^to^ the afd order afterwards in the Same Court Came the afd Randall Long and brings with him the afd Thomas Marshall orphan as afd Likewise appeared here in the Same Court the afd Petitioner. And whereupon all and Singular the Premisses by the Court here seen heard & full understood It's thereupon further Ordered by the Court that the afd Thomas Marshall orphan as afd Return whome with the afd Randall Long and that he give him a year's Schooling and a new suite of apparell when he shall arrive to full age according to Law Likewise it is ordered by the Court that the said Randall Long give security to Comply with the same Whereupon the Said Randall Long together with S^o^uthy Whittington his Security both present in Court acknowledge y.mselves to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the Said Thomas Marshall in the Sum of twenty pounds for the Use of the Said Thomas Marshall In Case the Said Randall Long shall not give him a years Schooling and a new Suite of apparell at the Expiration of that when he shall attain to full age according to Law and Likewise to find and provide form him all Such Necessarys as Shall be Sufficient for Such on Own to have and wear dureing the time he Shall Continue under his Care &c Abraham Smith appointed Overseer of the Road through a Swamp Called Aarons Swamp
