1724 12 and Strict Custody in Goal untill the said Edmond of his Damages and Costs afd Should thereof be fully Satisfyed &c John Stevens an Orphan boy Comes ^into Court^ and prays that he may have the Liberty of Chooseing Edmond Crapper as his Guardiant &c which is Granted &c Thereupon the Said John Stevens makes Chose of the said Crapper as his Guardiant &c the Said Crapper Complying with the Law in Such Case made and provided Upon the Pet.n of Jn.o Huffington for the Clearing of a road from the head of Baron Creek to the Chapple at Spring hill granted as praid and that John Willson, Thomas Gravener, and Henry Carter to be aded to the Company of the said Jn.o Huffington as Labourers in Clearing of the said Road &c
two Shillings Curr.t money and six hundred Nailes of the value of three shillings Like money of the goods & Chattells of a Certain Diagley Gray then and there being found then and there did take Steal and Carry away ag.t the Peace &c and also against the form of the act of assembly in Such Case made and provided Peter Watson Informer Jn.o Scott foreman
thirtieth day of November ann.o Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty two at the Parish and County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the said Robert in Nine hundred and fifty Eight pounds of tobacco for Levies Sherr Fees and publick dues and forbearance thereupon to the said Robert then and there due Oweing and unpaid as by an acco.t thereof hereunto annexed may may in Court appear and being so thereof Indebted the said Thomas in Consideration thereof afterwards to witt the day and Year afd at the place afd in Consideration thereof upon himselfe ^did^ assumed and to the said Robert then and there did faithfully promise that he the said Thomas the afd Nine hundred and fifty Eight pounds of tobacco to the said Robert when he Should be afterwards thereunto Requested he would well and faithfull pay and Content and altho' the said Thomas one hundred and Sixty pounds of tobacco percell of the afd Nine hundred and fifty Eight pounds of tobacco to the said Robert he hath paid and Satisfyed yett as to Seven hundred and Ninety Eight pounds of tobacco residue of the afd Nine hundred and fifty Eight pounds of tobacco the said Thomas his promise and assumption afd in form afd made Little regarding but plotting and fraudulently Intending ye said robert in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to deceive (and) |
