Shall wittingly or willingly entertain any servant or slave unlawfully absenting him
her or themselves from his her or there Master Mistriss dame or Over Seer shall be fined
five hundred pounds of tob.o for ever night or twenty four hours that such person or persons
shall give such entertainment as afd the one halfe thereof to the right Honrble the
Lord prop.r of this province his heirs & successors for the suport of Goverment & the other
halfe to the informer or him or them that Shall Sue for the same to be recover'd in any
County Court of this province by action of Debt bill plaint or Information wherein no
Eassoin protection or wager of Law to be allowed as by the said act fully app.rs & the said
John Donelson who as well &c ^in^ of fact says that a Certain Abraham Maguiney of the
twenty fourth day of augst Ann Dom one thousand Seven hundred & twenty five and
Long before & afterwards at Somersett County afd within the Jur of this Court was his
Servant unLawfully absented himselfe from him the said Jn.o Donelson who as well &c
from the afd twenty fourth day of August in the year afd at the County afd within ye afd Jur
for the space of thirty days & thirty nights then next following & the said John Donelson
who as well &c further says that the afd Abraham Cordery not Ignorant of y.e premises but in
Contempt of the Act of assembly afd & to the great Damages of the Same John who as well
&c at Somersett County afd within the afd Jur the said Abraham Maginey (so as afd unlawfully
from his Masters Servis absented from the afd twenty fourth day of August
in the year afd for the whole space of thirty days & thirty nights next following afd
did wittingly & willingly entertain ag.t the form of the Act of Assembly afd by w.ch action
(by force of the Act of Assembly afd) hath accrewed to the afd Jn.o who as well &c to require
& have of the afd Abraham Cordery for the Lord prop.r & himselfe the afd Sum of fifteen
thousand pounds of tob.o by him the said Abraham Cordery by the act afd in form afd forfeited
for wittingly & willingly entertaining the afd Abraham Maginey thirty days & thirty nights
that he unlawfully absented himselfe from his Master afd nevertheless the said Abraham
Cordery tho' often thereto required the afd Sum of fifteen thousand pounds of tob.o or any part
thereof the the afd Lord prop.r or the same John who as well &c hath not renderd but the
same Abraham Cordery the same heitherto to y.e said Lord prop.r or the same John
who as well &c to render hath altogether denyed & Still doth deny whereby the same
John who as well &c says he is wors & hath damage to the value of twenty thousand
pounds of tobacco & thereof he brings this Suite &c    L Gale P Quer pledges Jno Doe Rich.d Roe

          And the afd Abraham Cordery ^by^ his attry Jos: Pemberton Comes & defends the force &
Injury when &c and Saith that he doth not owe to the afd the right honrble the Lord prop.r & the
afd John Donelson who as well &c the afd fifteen thousand Pounds of tob.o in manner &
