51 at dividing Creek the third tuesday of March then next to answer unto his Lordship Concerning a Certaine Presentment against her found and that thereof he should not faile &c Att which said third tuesday of March to witt the Ninteenth day of the same month ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty two Being ye Day of the return of the said Writt Comes the Sherr of Sommersett County and makes return thereof Endorst vizt Cepi P Jos: MccChester Sherr Whereupon the said Sherr altho' solemnly Called Brings not in the Body of the said Rose Magee But humbly Prays that day may be given him till next Court to Bring in the said Rose Magee to Answer the Premisses afd &c which is granted &c Att which said next Court to witt the Eighteenth day of the June Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty three Comes the said Sherr and Brings into Court the said Rose Magee to answer &c Whereupon the said Rose Magee Being sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt herselfe of the Premiss afd says that of the Premisses afd she is guilty thereof and submitts to the Mercy of the Court and says that Sarah Dashiells widdow her Negro Man Called Tite is the father of the Child she stands Presented for And forasmuch as the said Rose Magee Inferred herselfe to be begott with Child by a negro Contrary to ye Laws of this Province in such Case Provided for which fact there accrues due to this County of Sommersett seven years ^service^ by the said Rose Magee (for such Inordinate Copulation) to Commence from the Expiration of her New service Whereupon it Ordered by the Court that the said Rose Magee Return home into the service of her Misters May Rounds and that the severall Officers Charges her fees to ye County that accrued by action of the Premises afd and that summons Issue to the sher to summons the said Mary Round so that she be and appear at ye Next Court to give sery to return the said Rose Magee to ye County at the Expiration of her service &c
County Court of Sommersett to be held at Dividing Creek in Sommersett County afd the third tuesday of June next to Answer unto Thomas Dashiell of a plea of trespass upon the case &c and that thereof he should not fail &c And the said Thomas Dashiel by Gorge Dashiell his attorney Proceeded against the said Edward Hull in the Plea afd as follows vizt And whereupon the said Thomas by his attorney afd Complains that whereas the said Edward in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and twenty two at the Parish and County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the Said Thomas in the Sum of Eighteen hundred and thirty five pounds of tobo as p account hereunto Annext may in Court appear and Being so thereof Indebted as afd at the time and Place afd did upon himselfe assume and to the said Thomas then and thee did faithfully Promise that the afd Sum of tobacco he would well and truly Pay and Content and altho' two hundred and Ninty Seven pounds of tobo Part of the afd Debt he hath paid (yett) |
