47 Lowder ^Shiles^ of Stepney Parish if she should be found in his Baliwick and he should Safe Keep so that he might have her Body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Sommersett to be held at Dividing Creek in Sommersett County afd the third tuesday of June then next to answer unto his Lordship Concerning a Certain Presentm.t against her found &.c and that thereof he should not fail &.c Att which Said third tuesday of June to witt the Eighteenth day of the same Month Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty three Being the day of the return of the Said Writt Comes the Sherr of Sommersett County to whom the foregoeing writt was directed and makes return thereof to the Court here Endorst in these words following vizt Cipi answers Jos: MccChester Sherr Whereupon the said ^Ann Shiles^ Bridgett Lowder^ appears in her Own Proper person and being sett to the Barr is thereupon demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the Premisses above Imposed on her says that of the Premises afd above Imposed on her she is guilty thereof and submitts to the Mercy of the Court and is willing to pay her fine for ye fact afd And makes Oath that Timothy Bloodworth is the Father of the Child she stands Presented for Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices afd that the said ^Ann Shiles^ Bridgett Lowder be fined to his Lordship the Lord Proprietary of this Province the Sum of thirty Shillings Curr.t mony for the fact afd thereupon the said Ann Shiles is discharged she giveing security for the paym.t of the fine afd and all the Officers fees that accrued by action of the Premisses afd Whereupon a Certaine Merrick Ellis of Sommersett County Gent Present herein Court undertakes for the Said Ann Shiles to pay the fine afd and the Severall Officers their Fees that accrued by action of the Premisses afd &.c
Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Sommersett County that he should take the said Bridgett Lowder of Stepney Parish Spinster if she should be found in his Baliwick and he should Safe Keep so that he might have her Body Before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Sommersett the third tuesday of June then next to be held at Dividing Creek to answer unto a Certain Presentm.t ^against^ her found by the grant Jury &.c and that thereof he should not fail &.c Att which Said third tuesday of June to witt the Eighteenth day of the same month Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty three Being the day of the return of the said Writt Comes the Sherr of Sommersett County and makes and makes return thereof Endorst vizt Cepi answers Jos McChester sher Whereupon the said Bridgett Lowder in her Own proper person appears and being sett to the Bar is thereupon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the Premisses afd above Imposed upon her says that of the premisses afd above Imposed upon ^her^ she is guilty thereof and submitts to the Mercy of the Court and makes Oath that a Certain Timothy Bloodworth is the Begetter of the Child she stands Presented for for as much as the Said Bridgett Lowder hath not where with all to pay her fine for the fact afd nor no Person would doe the same for her (Wherefore) |
