(271) In the 9th Year of Our Dominion &c Ann Dom 1724 Thomas Hayward Cler P order On the Back side of the foregoing Commission it was thus Indorst Vizt March ye 9.th day 1724 The Within Commission Examined By us John Caldwell his John Road Sen, Ebenezer Handy, and John ID Disharoone mark Maryland fs Somersett County In Obedience to An Act of assembly of This Province and In Pursuance to his Lordships Commission from Somersett County Court Bearing Date the 24th day of September in the Ninth year of his Lordships Dominion 1724 wee the subscribers did give Publick notice by setting Up One note Under Our Hands at four Publick Places Next adjacent to the Land of William Lingo Called New holland about the 25th day of January Last Giveing Notice That wee would meat on the said Land the second Tuesday of March Instant and Accordingly did meat ye Ninth day of the said Month and William Lingo Did appear By his Attorny Mr George Dashiell no Defendant appearing Phenix Hall Being sumon'd by the said William Lingo went up the South East Branch of the Main head of Wickacomoco river above severall Great Beaver dams and about half a mile above the Last ^Large^ Great dam On the North Side of the said Branch Commonly Called Poquason Branch he the said Hall did shew us a white oak marked with sixteen Notches standing a Little above a Small Gutt or Valy that runs Out of the said dam and Close by the said Dam side which he Said was the first Bounder of the said Land march ye 9th 1724 The Depossission of Phenix Hall Phenix Hall Aged about Eighty Years Being Sworn On the Holy Evangelist of almighty God and Laying his hand On the afd White Oake Declared that He saw and Helped to marke the said White Oak by Order of Mr Samuel Cupper the Then surveyor for the first Bounder of a Tract of Land Called New holland survey'd for Cornelius Jonston and This Deponent went about a Quarter of a mile to the North west of the said first Bounder and shewed us a ^marked^ white Oak when which the said Deponant Laid his hand on and Declared that he saw the said Oak marked the same day that the first Bounder was marked for the second Bounder of the said Land and This Deponent Decleared that the sd Land was to run from the second Bounder to fifty Acres of Land Called Thomas Cary's Land and Bounded on The said Land as the Survey'r Told This Deponent and further saith Not his John Caldwell, John Roach, Ebnezer Handy, Jn.o ID Disharoon mark
