Mary Hobbs
 Somersett fs:    Be it Remembred that this day to witt the seventeenth day of
march seventeen hundred and twenty four Came into Court Levin Gale Clk of Indictments
for the County afd and for the Lord proprietary gives the Court here to understand and be
    Informed that Mary Hobs wife of a Certain Joy Hobbs Late of Somersett Parish in the County afd
    Cooper the ninth day of march seventeen hundred and twenty four with force and arms &c in and upon
    a Certain Thomas Cary in the peace of God and our said Lord proprietary then and there being an assault
    made and him did beat would and Evilly treat so that of his Life it was despaired &c and other
    harms to the same Thomas then and there did doe to the great damage of the same Thomas against the
    Peace &c whereof the same Levin for our said Lord proprietary prays advisem.t &c

         Whereupon Mary Hobs in her own proper person appears and being sett to the
Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses above
Imposed upon her says that of the premisses afd so as afd upon her Imposed she is guilty thereof
and prays that she may be admitted to make fine to the Lord proprietary for the fact afd and she
is admitted         Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said Mary Hobs
be fined to the Lord proprietary the sume of three hundred pounds of tobacco for the fact afd
to the use of the said Lord proprietary    thereupon the said Mary Hobs ^is^ Ordered to give Security
for the paym.t of the fine afd and all fees that accrewed upon the Information afd unto the
Severall Officers      Whereupon the afd Joy Hobs her said husband present in Court undertakes
for the said Mary Hobs to pay the fine afd and all the Officers Fees due upon the Information afd &c

                   Thereupon It's Ordered by the Court that the Said Mary Hobs give security
for her good behaviour dureing the pleasure of the Court   Whereupon the afd Joy Hobs present
as before in Court undertakes for Mary Hobs his wife in the Sum of ten pounds Sterr to be Levied on
his body goods or Chattells Lands and tenements for the use of the said Lord proprietary  In Case the
Said Mary Hobbs be not of the good behaviour dureing the pleasure of the Court &c

John Crawford appears ^here^ in Court according to his recognizance Entred into Before John Handy of Somersett
County Gentl.m one of his Lordships the Lord proprietaries Justices of the Peace for the County afd and Prays that
his appearance may be recorded to save him self and security from the above recognizance Entred into
In the sum of Twenty pounds Currant mony for his Appearance this Court &c
             Thereupon ye said John Crawford's appearance is recorded and he Discharged from the
       Recognizance above said he first Giveing security for the Paym.t of the severall Officers their fees
