                 March Court               1724            267
       John Horsey Jun.r appears according to his Recognizance Entered into for his appearance this Court and
    is discharged paying the severall Officers their fees &c

          Whereas a Certain Daniel Davis of Somersett County being bound by Recognizance in the sum
of ten pounds sterling Last November Court for his good behaviour and appearance this March Court
Now hereat to witt the sixteenth day of March one thousand seven hundred & twenty four the said Daniel
Davis altho' solemnly Called Cometh not but makes default &c
                                        Wherefore it is Considered by the Court that the afd ten pounds sterr (the Sum
afd by the said Daniel Davis Entered into afd) be Levied on the body goods or Chattells Lands or tenements
of the said Daniel Davis for the use of the Right honourable the Lord proprietary of this province &c

       Likewise a Certain William Pointer undertook for the said Daniel Davis in the sum of five pounds
Ster that he should be of the good behaviour and make his appearance at March Court Next &c
          Whereupon the said William Pointer altho' solemnly Called to bring in the body of the said Daniell
Davis whom he undertook to have here at this day according to his Recognizance Cometh not but maketh default
whereby the Recognizance afd in the sum of five pounds Sterr afd became forfeited to the Right honrble
the Lord proprietor of this province &c       Wherefore it is Considered by the Court that the said Right
Honourable the Lord proprietary Recover against the Said William Pointer the afd sum of five pounds ster
to be Levied on his body goods or Chattells Lands or tenements for the use of the said Lord proprietary &c

 Somersett fs:    The Jurors for the Right honrble the Lord proprietary of the province
of maryland for the body of Somersett County upon their Oath doe present that Mary
Cook Late of Somersett Parish in the County afd Spinster the tenth day of December seventeen
       hundred and twenty ^four^ with force and arms &c at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction
       of this Court One Linnen Sheet of the value of thirteen shillings Curr.t money of this province of the goods
       and Chattells of a Certain Ephraim Willson and five gallons of syder Brandy of the value of twenty shillings
       Like money as afd of the goods and Chattells of a Certain Eleanor Ervine and one pair of Bodices of the value
       of twenty Shillings Like money as afd of the goods and Chattells of a Certain Mary Mathews then and there
       being found then and there feloniously did steall take and Carry away against the peace of Our said Lord
       proprietary his good rule and dignity and also against the form of the act of assembly in such Case made &c

       Testes   Francis Willson, Eleanor Parvine, Mary Ervin, Jos: Thompson, & Mary Mathews
       On the Backside of the foregoeing Bill of Indictm.t it was thus Endorsed vizt Billa vera Wm Lane foreman

                      Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he Should take the said Mary
       Cook Late of Somersett County Spinster if she ^should^ shall be found &c his Ba to answer &c and afterwards to witt
       this sixteenth day of March ann Dom One thousand seven hundred & twenty four Comes the said Mary Cook
       in Custody of the sherr into whose Custody was Committed for the Cause afd and the said Mary Cook being
       sett to ye Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the felony ^afd^ as
