Nanticoke hundred into Court and made Complaint that a Certain William Twyford had abused him in the
Execution of his office Contrary to his Lordships Peace good rule & Government &c
                   These are therefore in his Lordships ^Nayce^ to Command you on sight hereof to take the said Wm
Twyford and him safe Keep so that you have him before the Justices of the County Court of Somersett
to be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday of Novem Next whereof you are not to fail at your perill
and this shall be your Sufficient Warrant Wittness Joseph Gray Gent Chief Justice of our said Court
the 24.th day of September in the 9.th year of Our Dominion &c ann Dom 1724

                Att which said third tuesday of November to witt the seventeenth day of the same Month
ann Dom one thousand seven hundred & twenty four being the day of the return of the said Writt
Cometh the Sherr of Somersett County to whom the foregoeing Writt was directed and maketh return
thereof Endorsed in these words following viz.t    Cepi Corpus p Jos: MccClester sher
Whereupon the said sherr altho' solemnly Called brings not in the Body of the said William Twyford
according to the Return on the writt afd thereupon day is given unto the said Sherr untill the Next Court
to be holden for the County ^afd^ to bring in the body of the said William Twyford to answer &c

          Att which said next Court to witt the sixteenth day of march ann Dom one thousand seven hundred and
twenty four the said sher altho' solemnly Called brings not into Court the said W.m Twyford to answer &c
   
          Wherefore it is Considered by the Court ^here^ that the sherr of Somersett County to witt Joseph MccClester
Gent be fined to Lordship the sume of five hundred pounds of tobacco for the use of the Said Lord proprietary
for his default afd      Whereupon Came into Court a Certain John Huffington and undertakes
for the said William Twyford for to pay the severall Officers their fees due by occasion of the premisses afd &c

Ann Bullingall
 We of the Jury do present Ann Bullingall of Stepney Parish Spinster for bareing

a bastard Child on or about June Last               W.m Lane Foreman
                      Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he should take the
said Ann Bullingall if &c and afterwards in the same Court Comes the said Ann Bullingall
in Custody of the Sherr of Somersett County into whose Custody ^before that time^ was Committed for the Cause afd
And the said Ann Bullingall being by the Sherr sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how she
would acquitt herselfe of the premisses afd says that of the premisses afd she is no ways guilty thereof
and thereof for tryall putts herselfe upon the Country         Whereupon the afd Ann Bullingall Relinquisheth
her very fication afd above pleaded and says that she Cannot gainsay but that she is guilty of the premisses
above Imposed upon her and makes Oath that a Certain Thomas Hugg is the begetter of the Child she stands
presented for but hath nothing to pay her fine for the fact afd   wherefore it is Considered by the Court
that the said Ann Bullingall be whipt at the publick whiping post with fifteen Lashes well Laid on
untill ye blood appear and as to ye Corporall punishment afd Command is given to the sherr of Somerset
