Att which said next March Court to witt the sixteenth day of the same Month One thousand seven hundred &
twenty four Comes the said Sher and return's that in pursuance to the afd order he had sumoned the said John
Powell &c                         Thereupon the said John Powell & Samuel Brittingham Came into Court and brings
with them the afd William and Levin Powell orphans afd   and whereas it did appear to the Court that the said
Orphans were not Kept according to their Estates   whereupon the same Court demanded of the said Brittingham
and John Powell if they had any thing to object why William Holland husband of the afd Mary Holland
the Petition.r should not be appointed as Guardian to the said orphans untill they did arrive to full age according
to Law to Chose their Guardiants and that all their Estate both Reall and personall to be Committed into ye
Care ^and Custody^ of the said William Holland   But the said Brittingham & Powell haveing Nothing to say that was Material
&c    Thereupon the said William Holland is appointed by the Court as guardian to the afd William
Powell and Levin Powell orphans afd untill they ^should^ arrive to full age according to Law to Chose their Guardians
and that the said William Holland Guardian afd so as afd appointed take into Possession and Care all the
Estate of the said orphans both real & personall of what sort soever &c
          And further It's ordered by the Court that the said Samuell Brittingham give good security Immediately
to deliver upon unto the said William Holland all the Estate that he hath in his hands of the said William
and Levin Powell op orphans afd both Real & personall of what Kind ^sort^ soever
          Whereupon the said Samuel Brittingham together with William Whittington & Thomas Peall his
securitys all present in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to owe and stand Justly
Indebted Joyntly and Severally unto the said William and Levin Powell their heirs or assignes in the sum
of two hundred pounds Sterr to be Levied on their body's goods of Chattells Lands or tenements for the use of
of the said William & Levin Powel's orphans afd      In Case the Said Samuel Brittingham doth not
deliver up unto the said William Holland all the Estate of the ^afd^ orphans that he hath in his hands or
Possession or to them of Right do belong &c

   Petn
     To the worshipfull Court of Somersett County    the petition of Mary Davis sheweth
that she unadvisedly Indented herselfe to Samuel Cox Esq.r for the term of two years and
by Bargaine was to have had two suites of Cloaths allowed her on demand besides other Cloaths
Necessary which said Cloaths is not mentioned in the Indentures   now your petitioner humbly prays
that your worships will discharge one of those Indentures or Els allow me those two suites of Cloaths
aforementioned and your Petitioner as in duty Bound shall Ever pray         Mary Davis
          The Petition afd being Read & heard & maturally Considered   It's ordered by the Court that the
said Mary Davis from the Indenture afd be acquitt
          And afterwards in the same Court & term a Certain John Donnolson adm.r of the afd Samuell Cox made
appear that the said Mary Davis had received of and from the said Samuell Cox the two suites of Charles in her
Indenture mentioned as appears by an account thereof made reference thereunto ^being^ had will more plainly
appear &c             Whereupon It's againe ordered by the Court that the said Mary Davis take Noe benefitt
by the order afd in relation to her Manumition but that she return into the service of the said John
Donnelson adm.r of the said Samuel Cox Esq.r and there faithfully honestly and truly to Compleat
