Henry Alexander Present here in Court undertakes for the said Catherine Woods Exrx as afd That in Case
she be Nonsuited in the Plea afd or otherwise Legally Cost That then she the said Catherine Woods
shall pay the Condemnation of the Court and all Costs accrewing Thereon Or that he the said Henry
Alexander will Doe it for her &                     And the said Henry Alexander in his Own Proper
Person Comes and Defends the force and Injury when & and says that he Cannot Gain say the
Plft her action afd so as afd againest him brought nor Can he say But that he was Indebted
unto the afd Robert Woods in his Lifetime the afd sum of four hundred and Ninty pounds of tobacco
nor Can he say but that the said Catherine Exrx of the same Robert Ought to recover her damages
by Occation of the Premisses afd to four hundred and Ninty pounds of Tobacco and Costs of
Suite againest him which the said Plft does not Gainsay ^&      Therefore it is Considered
By the Court here the seventeenth day of November Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred
and Twenty four That ye afd Catherine Woods Exrx of the same Robert Woods deces recover
she be Nonsuited in the Plea afd or otherwise Legally Cast That Then she the said Catherine Woods
shall pay the Condemnation of the Court and all Costs Accrewing Thereon Or that he the said Henry

242   two      pounds of Tobacco by the Court here adjudged unto her for her Costs and Charges
by her about her suite in this behalfe Laid out and Expended and the deft in Mercy &

 Somersett County fs  Henry Alexander Late of all hallows Parish
in Somersett County Planter al.s dict Henry Alexander of Somersett
County in Maryland Carpenter was sumoned to answer unto William
Fisher of a Plea that he render unto him fifteen pounds four Shillings Currant Mony of America
which to him he Owes and Unjustly detaines &c    And whereupon the said William by
Francis Allen his Att.ry saith that Whereas the said Henry the Eighteenth day of March Ann Dom
seventeen hundred and Nineteen by his Certain writing Obligatory w.ch the said William with the
seal of the said Henry signed here into Court beings the date whereof is the same day and year
Did Acknowledge himself to be bound unto the afd William in the afd fifteen pounds four shillings
to be paid unto the said William when he should be thereunto required Yett the said Henry
Tho often required the said fifteen pounds four shillings to the said William hath not rendered
But the same to him hither to to render hath deny'd and still doth deny and Unjustly Detain
to the damage of the said William of Twelve pounds Mony afd and thereupon he bring

Whereup^on^ tis Ordered by the Court that the said William Fisher give security for Costs in
Case Nonsuite be recovered againest him in the Plea afd Thereupon the said Henry Alexandr
Present here in Court Undertaks for the said William Fisher that in Case he be nonsuted in the
Plea afd or otherwise Legally Cast that then he the said William Fisher shall pay the Condemnation
of the Court and all Costs Accrewing thereon or that he the sd Henry Alexander will do
