Wee John MccClester, John Handy and James Dashiell have been on and a Long severall
of the roads Between the afd rivers and have made strict Inquiry of severall of the Overseers of
the Highways and other Persons Concerned & And Ordered that Mr John Evans Jun Take Care
to Clear and mend the Highway Between the Lower Ferry of wickacomoco a Long the Main road
Leading towards Nanticoak Lower ferry as far as Calloways tree not far from the Head of Tipqueen
and the Said Mr John Evans is also Ordered to Clear the Main road Leading Down the Neck
towards Sam.ll Flewellings Vizt from the ferry Road (of Wickacomoco to the Great Beach
And the said John Evans is Likewise Ordered to Clear all that great road Leading from
Stepney Parish Church to the ferry road Leading to wickacomoco Lower ferry  And all the
men which George Collier was Overseer of (for the highways) we order that they should
attend Mr John Evans as their Overseer and the said Georg Collier Did Before us Relinquish his
Overseers Place         Ordered that Robert Hardy Clear all the Main Road from Stepney Parish
Church up wickacomoco river to the great roade which Leads from Mr Humphrys to the
upper ferry of Wickacomoco  And also to Clear a New road from the upper side of Bartletts
Plantation to the upper ferry a Long the Highest and best way According as wee have shewn
and Directed him  And also One half the road (as was formerly Used to be Cleard) from wickacomoco

 Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he Should take John
White ^late^ of allhollows parish in Somersett County planter if he should be found in his
bailywick and him should Safe Keep so that he might have his body before the
                         Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somersett to be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday
          of august ^then^ Next to answer unto Edmond Hough of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c and that thereof he
          should not faile &c    Att which said third tuesday of august to witt the Eighteenth day of the same month
    ann Dom One thousand seven hundred twenty four being the day of the return of the said Writt Cometh the
    said Edmond Hough by ^Francis Allen^ his attorney and the Sherr of Somersett County to whom the foregoeing Writt was directed
    Likewise Cometh & maketh Return thereof Endorst in these words viz.t  Cepi Corpus P Jos: MccClester Sherr
                   Whereupon the said John White being Called appears and thereupon the said John White
    at ye prayer of the plfts attorney afd is adjudged to give Speciall Bail to the action afd but for want thereof
    the said John White is Committed into the Custody of the Sherr of Somersett County there to remain &c the
    said sher being present took Charge of the said John White accordingly thereupon day is Given unto
    the said John White in Custody as afd untill next Court & the same day is given to the pflt also
             And the said Edmond Hough by his attorney afd declared against the said John White in the
    plea afd as followeth viz.t
