245 Charges in this Behalf Laid out and Expended To six hundred fifty three Pounds of Tobacco and for her Costs and Charges one Pound of Tobacco Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here the seventeenth day of November Ann Dom one Thousand seven hundred and Twenty four that the said Mary Pope Exrx as afd recover against the said William Pepper as well the sum of six hundred fifty three pounds of Tobacco her damages afd By the Jurors afd in forme afd assessed as also the sum of Eleven hundred & fifty Two (1152) Pounds of Tobacco By the Justices here of her assent of Increase Adjudged for her Costs and Charges ^by her^ about her suite in that Behalfe Laid out and Expended and the Deft in Mercy &c Somersett County fs Charles absolute Lord and Proprietarie of the Provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c To Robert King, Ephraim Wilson, Thomas Williams, and Samuel Handy, of Somersett County Gentl.m Greeting Know Ye that wee have appointed you or any three or Two of you to be our Commissioners to Examine Evidences in relation to the Bounds of a Certain Tract of Land Lying in Somersett County on the Eastside of Marumsco Creek Called Kings Lott Belonging to a Certain Thomas Adams, Wee Therefore Command you or any three or Two of you to meet on the afd Tract of Land Called Kings Lott on a Certain Time as to you or any Three or Two of you shall seem Meet Convenient and That you Cause to Come before you or any Three or Two of you all such Evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you named By the said Complainant (or Defendant if any) and that you Examine them on their Corporall Oaths to be by you or any three or Two of you Administred on the Holy Evangelist in Presents of the Party Concerned in the Premisses touching the Truth or remembrance of their Knowledge or anything that may relate to the Cause afd and That reduceing their severall Depositions in writing you send the same together with this our Commission under you or any Three or Two of your Hands to us our County Court of Somersett with all Convenient Speed Wittness Joseph Gray Gentl Chief Justice of our said Court this 24th day of September in the Ninth year of Our Dominion &c Ann Dom 1724 P Order Thomas Hayward Cler the Execution of the within Commission appears by a Certain Shedule hereunto annext Thos Williams Saml Hand Now the subscribers Being Qualified By Vertue of An Act of assembly in relation to the maintanance of the Bounds of Land The deposission of Jacob Adams Being Quallified upon the spott and aged about forty seven or upwards declears that in his father Phillips Adam Adams Lifetime Being about feeding sows and Piggs that his father Tould him that this was his Begining Corner Tree as appears standing on the south side of a small Gutt Near to Marumsco Creek about fifty Yards from the Gutt But has Been blown up down (and) |
