promised that he when afterward she should be thereunto Required the afd sum of
tobacco and mony to the afd Nathaniell she would well and faithfully Content and pay and
also that whereas the afd Mary the tenth day of June one thousand seven hundred and twenty at the
Parish of Coventry afd within the afd Jurisdiction in Consideration the afd Nathaniell at the
Spiciall req Instance and request of the said Mary wou'd provide and find for a Certain Child
of the said Mary's at the Cost and Charge of him the said Nathaniell suficient meat Drink and
Lodging for so Long time as the said Child of the said Mary shou'd Cohabit and reside with
the said Nathaniell the said Mary the day year and place Last above Mentioned upon her
selfe assumed and to the said Nathaniell then and there faithfully Promised that she when
afterwards she should Be thereunto required so much money to the said Nathaniell as he for
the said meat drink and Lodging afd shou'd reasonably Desire wou'd well and faithfully
Content and pay and the said Nathaniell in fact says that he Trusting the Promise and
assumption afd of the afd Mary in form afd made afterwards that is to say the afd tenth
Day of June One thousand seven hundred and twenty at Coventry Parish afd within the
the afd Jurisdiction did at the Speciall Instance and request of the afd Mary and at the proper
Cost and Charge of the same Nathaniell Provide and find sufficient Meat Drink and
Lodging for the Child afd of the afd Mary for Divers Mouths Being the whole Time that the said
Child of the said Mary did Cohabit and reside with the said Nathaniell for which the said Nathaniell
says he reasonably Deserves and ought to have of the sd Mary Twelve pounds Current
money of maryland of which the said Mary afterwards Vizt) the day and year and
Place Last above mentioned had Notice Nevertheless the said Mary her promise and
assumption afd inform afd made Little reguarding But Plotting fraudulently Intending
the same Nathaniell in that part to Defraud and Deceive the said Mary the afd sums of
money or Tobacco or any part thereof to the afd Nathaniell (although the same Mary
By the same Nathaniell afterwards viz.t the twentieth day of June One thousand
seven hundred and twenty three at Coventry Parish afd within the Jurisdiction afd) hath not
paid or him for it in any wise Contented but the same to him hitherto to pay or in any wise to Content
hath altogether Refused and still doth Refuse whereby the said Nathaniel says he is the worse and
hath damage to the value of twenty five pounds Curr.t money of Maryland and thereof he brings this
suite &c

       And the said Mary Phagan by Francis Allen her attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury
when &c and prays Leave to Imparle hereunto untill Next Court and she hath it and the same
Day is Given to ye plft also                     Att which said next Court to witt the Ninteenth day of Novem
