235 and him should Safe Keep so that he might have his Body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somersett to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of November then next to answer unto a Certain presentm.t against him found &c and that thereof he should not fail &c Att which said third tuesday of Novem to witt the seventeenth day of the same month being the day of the Return of the said Writt Cometh the Sher of Somersett County and Maketh return thereof Endorst Viz.t Cepi Corpus P Joseph MccClester sher Whereupon the said William Thompson in his own proper person appears and being sett to the barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd above upon him Imposed says that of the premisses afd he is guilty thereof and is willing to pay thirty Shillings for his fine for the fact afd Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said William Thompson be fined to his Lordship the Lord proprietary the sum of thirty shillings (which is directly paid by said Thompson to Mr George Dashiell) whereupon it ordered by the Court that the Said William Thompson give security for the paym.t of the severall Officers their fees due by occasion of the premisses afd thereupon a Certain John Jones present here in Court undertakes for the said William Thompson to pay the severall officers their fees due as afd. And it is further Ordered by the Court that the said William Thompson pay unto Mr Ephraim Willson the sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco being full satisfaction for the Keeping the Child so begott by the said William Thompson ^afd^ three month with other Charges and trouble Expended by said William &c Its Likewise Ordered by the Court that the said William Thompson Give Security to save and Endempnifie the said County of Somersett from all or any Charge or Burthen that may happen toward the main^taining &^ Reliefe of said Child &c Whereupon the said W.m Thompson together with W.m Stoughton his Security present in Court acknowledged themselves to Owe & Stand Justly Indebted unto the Right honrble the Lord proprietary in the sum of five pounds Sterr Each to be Levied on their bodys goods and Chattells Lands and tenements In Case the said Child be not Kept and Maintained without being burthensome to said County of Somersett in any acco.t Whatsoever &c
