The petition of James Rownd humbly Sheweth that your Worships would be pleased to Excuse
my Serving as a Juror this Court by reason my wife is Extraordinary bad and your
       Petition as in duty bound shall Ever pray                  Rownd
             the petition afd being Read & heard & fully understood.  Its therefore Ordered that the said James
       Rownd be discharged from the Jury & that the Sherr return atales &c

          Francis Allen of Somersett County Gentl: being appointed deputy Collector under John Brown Esq.r
          for Pocomok district is approved of he takeing the Oaths to the Goverm.t &c thereupon the said
          Francis Allen took the severall Oaths appointed by Law & Subscribed the oath of abjuration & test &c

                         Joseph MccClester of high Sher of Somersett County altho' solemnly Called to give his
                attendance to this Court Comes not nor none of his deputys for him but makes default &c
          Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said Joseph MccClester be fined for his defence
          afd the sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco            afterward in the same Court Comes the said
          Joseph MccClester and prays that for as much as this was the first time that he Ever absented himselfe
          but always paid due obedience to the same Court that the fine afd may be remitted &c
                         the premisses Considered   Its therefore ordered by the Court that the said Joseph
          MccClester of the fine afd be acquitt &c

                Ordered by the Court that William Alexander be overseer of the Road from his own hous to
          Richard Plunketts and that his own family & son Sam.l, Robert Willsons, Andrew Willsons & Edwd
          Smith assist in Clearing of said Road and that it be Cleared Immediately &c

Command was given to the Sher of Somersett County that he should somons Daniell Davis
of Somersett County Planter if he should be found in his Bailywick that All Excuses Sett
apart that he might ^be &^ appear before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somersett to
       be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday of Novem then next to answer unto his said Lordship
    Concerning What should be Objected against him on his said Lordships Behalfe for abuseing Capt John
Smith & Calling him Old Fox &c  that thereof he should not fail &c                      Att which said next Court
to witt the third tuesday of Novem ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred & twenty four Comes the said Sher
and makes return that he had sumoned the said Daniel Davis as by his writt he was Commanded &c
Whereupon the said Daniel Davis in his own proper person appears and being demanded how he
would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd says that of the premisses afd he is guilty thereof &
                                                                                                                            (submitts)
