233 Whereupon the said Teague Riggin Relinquisheth his verification afd and says that of the premisses afd as by the Information above is Imposed upon he is Guilty thereof and prays that he may have Liberty to make fine to the said Lord proprietary for the fact afd &c Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said Teague Riggin be fined to his Lordship the Lord proprietary the sum of two hundred pounds of tobacco for the fact afd thereupon the said Teague Riggin is discharge paying the fine afd and the severall officers their fees due by occasion of the premisses afd &c
Whereupon the said Catherine MccDonnold in his own proper person appears and prays Liberty untill next Court to answer the premisses afd and it is granted her the same day is given unto Levin Gale his Lordships attorney (who for his said Lordship in this Behalfe prosecutes) also Att which said next Court to witt the seventeenth day of Novem ann Dom one thousand seven hundred and twenty four Come againe as well the said Catherine MccDonnold in her own proper person as the said Levin Gale his Lordships attorney who for his Said Lordship in this Behalfe prosecutes and the said Catherine MccDonnold being sett to the Barr (Presentm.t Read) pleads guilty and Submitts to the Mercy of the Court and makes Oath that a Certain Negro Man (belonging to upsher King) Called Frost is the begetter of the Child She stands presented for Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices that according to the Laws of this province (to prevent such Inordinate Copulation as afd) there accrews due to this County of Somersett from the said Catherine MccDonnold Seven Years Service and Likewise the Child so begott to serve till thirty One Years of age Whereupon ^the said^ Catherine MccDonnold (And the Child so as afd Inordinately begott) is sold by the Court unto Ephraim Willson of Somersett County Gentl: that is the said Catherine MccDonnold for seven years and the Child afd till thirty one years of age that is to say the said Catherine MccDonnold and Child to serve the said Ephraim Willson his heirs or assigns in all such Lawfull service or Employm.t as he shall Employ them in or about the full term of time afd In Consideration whereof the said Ephraim Willson promiseth to pay to Somersett County the Sum of three thousand p two hundred pounds of tobacco &c
