233 for tryall putts himselfe upon the Country and Levin Gale who for his said Lordship in this Behalfe prosecutes Likewise Thereupon Command is Given to the Sher of Somersett County that Immediately he Cause to Come here twelve &c by whom &c who neither &c to recognize &c because as well &c of which said preceipt the said sher to witt Joseph MccClester Gentl: makes return that he hath here ready twelve &c as by his preceipt he was Commanded and the Jurors of that Jury therein Impannelled being Called Came to witt Edward Round, James Round, John Dennis Sen Abraham Cordery, Henry Scofeild, James Harris, Thomas Dixon, Charles Cottingham, Adam Spence Sen George Benston, Adam Hitch, John Huffington, who being duely Elected tryed & sworn to say the truth in ye premisses upon their Oath do say that the said James Feillett Jun is not Guilty of the premisses as by the Indictmt above is Imposed upon him &c Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said James FEillett Jun be thereof [illegible] and ^[illegible]^ thereof without day &c Bartlett Fisher be^ing^ of full age according to Law to make Choice of his Guardiant Comes into and prays that he may have the Liberty of Choseing William Stoughton Esq.r as his Guardiant is Granted &c thereupon the said Bartlett Fisher makes Choice of said Stoughton as his Guardiant
understand and be informed that a Certain Teague Riggin late of Coventry parish in the County afd planter the tenth day of September Seventeen hundred & twenty four at the parish afd in the County afd with force and arms in and upon a Certain Hugh Porter in the peace of God and Our Said Lord proprietary then and there being an assault made and him did beat wound and Evilly treat so that of his Life it was despaired and Other harms to him the said Hugh then & there did doe to the Great damage of Same Hugh and against the peace &c whereof the same Levin Gale for Our Said Lord proprietary prays advisem.t of the Court upon the premises &c L Gale P Dom Propy Whereupon the Said Teague Riggin in his own proper person appears (Information Read) is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd above Imposed upon him; says that of the premisses afd above upon him Imposed he is G Not Guilty thereof and thereof for tryall putts himselfe upon the Country and Levin Gale who for his said Lordship in this behalfe prosecutes Likewise (whereupon) |
