231 a little further out from his plantation and it will be far better and Little or nothing further and your petitioner as in duty bound shall Ever pray the petition afd being read & heard and the premisses Considered Its therefore ordered by the Justices that the said George Tull have the Liberty of turning the road by his plantation as by the petition afd he hath praid he makeing the New road as good and passable as the old at his own proper Costs and Charge &c John Huffington appointed overseer in Nanticoke hundred in the place & Stead of William Young Southy Whittington of Somersett County Gentl: Surveyor of Said County brings into Court a Certain W.m Givans of said County and offers him to the Court as deputy Surveyor under him who is approved of he takeing the Oath appointed by Law &c thereupon the said William Givans took the oath app appointed & subscribed the oath of abjuration & test &c
Joseph Kennear merch.t in said County of Somersett &c and afterwards in the same Court the Sherr of Somersett County to witt Joseph MccClester Gentl: Comes and setts to the Barr the said John Horsey to answer &c Whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the said John Horsey Give recognizance in twenty pds Sterr with two securitys in ten pounds Sterr Each for his appearance at next Court to answer &c Thereupon the said John Horsey present in Court acknowledged himselfe to owe and stand Justly Indebted unto the right honourable the Lord proprietary of the province of Maryland his heirs and successors in twenty pounds Sterr to be Levied on his Body Goods or Chattles Lands or tenements for the use of his said Lordship In Case he does not make his personall appearance before the Justices of Our County Court to be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday of March next to answer unto his Lordship Concerning all such matter and things as shall be objected against him on his said Lordships behalfe and not to depart the same Court without Lycence thereof and to stand and abide the Judgm.t of the Court thereupon &c Likewise a Certain Anthony West and Randall West of Somersett County Gentl: present here in Court undertake for the said John Horsey as his securitys and acknowledged themselfes to owe & stand Justly ^Indebted^ unto the said Lord proprietary his heirs and successors in the sum of ten pounds Sterr: Each Joyntly & Severally on their bodys Goods or Chattells Lands or tenements to be Levied for the Use of his said Lordship In Case the said John Horsey doe not make his personall appearance before the Justices of our County Court to be held at Dividing Creek the third tuesday of March next and answer unto his said Lordship Concerning all such Matters & things as shall (be) |
