Thomas Adams
    Petn
              To the worshipfull Justices of Somersett County was Sitting ye
humble petition of Thomas Adams sheweth that your petitioner hath
             a tract of Land Called Kings Lott Lying on the Eastermost Side of Marumsco Creek
    your Petitioner prays that your Worships will Grant a Commission according to Law
    to Examine Evidences for the perpetuating the Bounds thereof and as in duty bound
    shall pray                                                                  Thomas Adams
    The petition afd being Read & heard   Its therefore Considered by the Justices here
    that Robert King, Ephraim Willson, Thomas Williams and Samuel Handy be and are
    appointed Commissioners to Examine Evidences as by the Pet.n afd is praid and that a Commission
    to them Issue &c

          Whereas a Certain Abraham Smith having abused John Macclester one of the
          Justices of Somersett County by Calling him Toby & giving him other Scurralous Language
       &c the said Abraham Smith present in Court is fined by the Justices thereof the
    sum of sixty pounds of tobo to his Lordship the Lord proprietary for the fact afd &c

       Upon the Pet.n of the Inhabitants of the sea side for the Clearing a road from ye seaside
    up the Indian River to the ferry and that a Certain Jones Ricketts be overseer
    the pet.n afd Granted as praid & that the same Road be Cleared according to the direction
    of Capt Jn.o Smith &c

             Whereas the County standard is Now Kept at the plantation of Capt John Scott at ye
    head of Manocan &c    It's Ordered by the Court that John Jones and Will.m Stoughton of
    Somersett County Gentl: goe & take ye Standard Out of the hands and possession of the said
    Scott and deliver the same unto a Certain Henry Ballard of the County afd and that the same
    be by him securely Kept at his plantation at Manocan afd   & Likewise Its Ordered
    that Jn.o Purnell and Jno MccClester of the County afd Gent.n mete at a time Convenient &
    Regulate ye same standard &c

    Ordered by the Court that Jn.o Scott, Hugh Porter & Will.m Taylor give recogn in ten pds
    Sterling Each for their appearance at Next Novem Court to give Evidence on behalfe of
    ye Lord proprietary against Peter Dix Dickerson &c    Whereupon the said John
    Scott Hugh Porter & William Taylor all present in Court acknowledged themselves to Owe and
                                                                                                                         (stand)
