In Case the said Samuel Bratton do not Learn the said James Bratton Jun.r to Read & write
and the trade of weaver ^shomaker^ or Blacksmith and Likewise pay & deliver unto him Eleven pds
Eight shill.s and ten pence when he shall attain to full age &c

Whereas a Certain ^Mary Ash^ being a servant Crimanall and by Law the County of
Somersett was Oblidged to pay the severall officers their fees due by occasion
of the premisses Now hereat this day to witt the twenty third day of September
                   ann.o Dom One thousand seven hundred & twenty four the said Mary Ash is Return'd
to the County Court of Somersett &c    Whereupon the said Mary Ash present in Court binds
herselfe a Servant unto a Certain Thomas Holbrook to serve him the said Thomas Holbrook his
heirs and assignes in all such Lawfull service or Imploym.ts as he should Imploy her in or
about dureing the full term of time afd the said servitude to Commence from ye Date of these
presents  In Consideration of Which servitude by the afd Mary Ash the said Thomas Holbrook
promiseth to pay unto the County of Somersett afd the full & just sum of one thousand &
thirty one pounds of tob.o that by Law the said Mary Ash was Obliged to pay unto the said
County at the Expiration of her first servitude &c    Thereupon the said Thomas Hoolbrook
present here in Court Confesseth Judgm.t unto the said County of Somersett for the Just and
full sum of one thousand and thirty one pounds of tobo afd &c


Mary Grindless
bound to W.m Gray
Mary Grindless an Orphan Girle is bound by the Court & her own Consent
unto William Gray untill she arrives to the age of sixteen years she being
                            twelve years of age Last July the said Mary Grindless to serve the Said
William Gray in all such Lawfull service as he should Employ her in or about during the full term
of time afd In Consideration whereof the said William Gray undertakes to Learn her the Said
Mary Grindless dureing her servitude to Read Knitt Sew & Spin and Other houswifery and to
find her sufficient Necessarys dureing her servitude mete for her to have & wear
Whereupon its ordered by the Court that the said W.m Gray give recognizance in ten pounds ster
for ye Complying with ye Covenants afd &c Thereupon the said William Gray is ordered to present
in Court acknowledged himselfe to Owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto the said Mary Grindless
in the sum of ten pounds sterr to be Levied on his goods or Chattles Lands or tenements for
the use of the Said Mary Grindless  In Case the said W.m Gray do not Learn the said Mary
Grindless to read Knitt Sew and Spin dureing her servitude & find provide for her all such
Necessarys during mete for her to have & wear &c
