Wee of the grand jury do Present Joseph Holder for feloniously Bearing a way two

Hoggs belonging to Edward Cowdery the Sixteenth of Fery in Stepney Parish against
                ye form of an act of assembly of this Province and against ye Peace &.c

                                                    Thereupon Command was given to the sherr of Sommersett County
       that he should take the said Joseph Holder if &.c to answer &.c  And now here at to witt the Nineteenth day
       of March Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty ^two^ Comes the said Joseph Holder in Custody
       of the sherr afd into whose Custody before that day was Committed for the Cause afd and the said Joseph
       Holder being sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himself of the felony afd
       Saith that of the felony afd he is noe was ^wise^ guilty thereof and thereof for tryall putts himselfe upon the Country
       and William Tazewell who for his said Lordships in this Part Prosecutes in Like manner
                                                    Thereupon Command is given to the sherr of Sommersett County that Immediately
       he Cause to Come here twelve &.c by whom &.c who neither &.c to recognize &.c because as well &.c of which
       said Preceipt the said Sherr to witt Joseph M.ccChester Gent makes return that he has her ready twelve
       &.c  as by his said Preceipt he was Commanded and the Jurors therein Impannelled being Called Came to
       witt William Lane John Dennis sen Ebenezer Handy John Scarbrough John Ricards Richard Tyler
       John Bratton Samuel Turner Samuel Alexander William Laws John Atkinson Henry Ayers who being
       duely Elected tryed and sworn to say the truth in the premises upon their Oath doe say that the said Joseph
       Holder is guilty of the felony as above is Imposed upon him                           Whereupon the Court here
       valued the two hoggs in the Presentm.t afd mentioned to six shillings               Wherefore it is Considered by
       the Justices here that the said Joseph Holder pay unto the said Edward Cowdery the party deprived fourfold
       of the value of the two hoggs afd amounting in the whole to the sum of Twenty four Shillings and that the
       said Joseph Holder be whipt with twenty Lashes on the Bare Back well Laid on untill the Blood appear
       and that he stand in the Pillowry a quarter of an hour and that he be taken &.c and thereupon to ye Corporall
       Punishment afd Command is given to the Sherr of Sommersett County that he do thereof Immediate Execution
       according to the Judgm.t afd rendered by whiping the afd Joseph Holder at the Publick whiping post with twenty
       Lashes on the Bare Back well Laid on untill the Blood appear and by sitting him in the Pillowry a quarter
       of an hour and afterwards in the same Court the Sherr returns that he has done the Execution of the
       Judgm.t afd as to ye Corporall Punishm.t as he was Commanded   Butt for that the Justices here as yett are
       not advised in the Compleating their Judgm.t of and upon the Premises afd day is therefore given the said
       Joseph Holder in Custody of the sherr to hear thereof their Judgm.t untill the ^last^ third tuesday of aprill
       next for that the Justices as yett are not &.c  Att which ^said^ Last tuesday of aprill Ann Dom One thousand
       Seven hundred and twenty three Being the thirtieth day of the same month Comes the Said Joseph Holder
       in Custody as afd and for as much as the said Joseph Holder hath not sufficient goods and Chattles
       to satisfie the four fould afd four afd and the severall officers their fees due to them by action of the
       Premises afd as also the fine and fees that accrued against ye said Joseph Holder on a tryall at suite
       of his Lordship for all an Indictm.t for an Escape and the said Joseph Holder Being a minor so y.t
       ye Court Could not dispose of him to Satisfie the four fold fine and fees afd according to law
