       June Court           1724                201
       Prays that the said Benjamin King to his declaration in the plea afd may answer & thereupon
the afd Benjamin King hath time given him by the Court till four of the Clock of this same day to
answer &c and after four of the Clock of the same day the said Benjamin King altho' solemnly ^Called^
to answer Cometh not nor the same attorney of the afd Benjamin for him the said Benjamin any
thing thereupon saith in bar or preclution of the action afd ^of the said^ William by which the same William
Remains hereof ag against him undefended &c
             Therefor it is Considered by the Justices here the sixteenth day of June ann Dom one thousand
seven hundred & twenty four that the said Benj William Clark Recover against the said Benjamin
King as well the sum of forty five shillings Curr.t money his damages by occasion of the premisses afd as
430    also the sum of four hundred & thirty                                                                  pounds of tobo
by the Court here adjudged unto him for his Costs and Charges by him about his suite in the Behalfe Laid out
and Expended & the deft in mercy &c

This being an action of trespass upon the Case &c when the sherr of Somersett
County to whom the writt in the same action was directed Comes and makes
Return thereof Endorst viz.t Cepi Corpus P Joseph MccClester sher
       Thereupon the said Thomas Layfield being Called appears and thereupon the said Thomas
Layfield at the prayer of the plfts attorney is adjudged to give Speciall Bail to the action afd thereupon
a Certain John Williamson of Somersett County Carpenter present here in Court undertakes for
the said Thomas Layfeild or that the said Thomas Layfeild shall be there in Convict that then
the said Thomas Layfield shall pay the Condemnation of the Court thereupon or render his Body to the
Custody of the sherr of Somersett County in satisfaction thereof or that he the said Williamson will
do it for him thereupon the said Thomas Layfeild by in his own proper person appears & Imparls till
next Court &c

Command was given to the sherr of Somersett County that he should tale Christopher
Glass late of all hollows parish in in the County afd planter if he should be
found in his Bailywick and him should Safe Keep so that he might have his body
       before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somersett to be held at Dividing Creek in third
tuesday of June ^the^ next to answer unto Jeffery Flowers of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c and that
thereof he should not fail &c                         Att which said third tuesday of June to witt the sixteenth day
of the same month ann.o Dom One thousand Seven hundred & twenty three being the day of the return
of the said Writt Cometh the said Jeffery Flowers by his attorney and the sherr of Somersett County
to whom the foregoing writt was directed Likewise Cometh & maketh return thereof to the Court here
Endorst in these words following vizt Cepi Corpus P Jos: MccClester Sher

    Whereupon the said Christopher Glass by Francis Allen his attorney Comes & defends the force & Injury
