Read) pleads guilty and submits to the mercy of the Court & ^and makes oath that a Certain Jno Huggins is the begetter of ye Child her hands presented for^ but hath not wherewithall to pay her fine for the fact afd Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said Priscilla Langston be had to the Publick whiping post and there be whipt with ten Lashes on the Bear Back well Laid on untill the Blood appear and that she be taken &c and thereupon as to the Corporall punishmt afd Command is given to the sherr of Somersett County that he do thereof Immediate Ex.n according to the Judgmt afd rendered by whiping the afd Priscilla Langston at the publick whiping post with ten Lashes on the Bear Back well Laid on untill the Blood appear and afterwards in the same Court the sherr Returns that he hath done the Execution of the Judgmt afd as to the Corporal Punishmt afd he was Commanded Officers their fees due upon the presentm.t afd Thereupon a Certain John Huggins of somersett County present here in Court acknowledged himselfe to owe & stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship in the sum of ten pounds ster &c in Case he doth not pay the severall officers their fees due on the presentmt afd &c
Huggins in Custody of the sherr and being set to the Barr (present Read) pleads guilty and submits to the Mercy of the Court and is willing to pay thirty Shillings for his fine for the fact afd Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said John Huggins be fined to his Lordship thirty Shillings for the fact afd which fine is paid down here in Court to Mr Joseph Gray thereupon the said John Huggins is discharged giving security for the paym.t of the severall officers their fees due of upon the presentm.t afd Whereupon Richard Ellingsworth present in Court acknowledged himselfe to Owe & Stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship in ten pounds sterr to be Levied &c In Case he doth not pay unto the severall officers their fees due upon the presentmt afd Solomon Colebourn appears according to his Recognizance Entered into Last Court and is discharged Richard Tiler appears according to his Recognizance Entered into Last Court to answer a Certain Contempt by him Committed and done in not obeying a Certain Somons Issued from a Certain James Dashiell One of the Justices of Somersett County he the said Richard Tiler being Legally Sumoned &c Whereupon the said Richard Tiler being demanded the reason wherefore he disobeyed and (Contemned) |
