in the same Court to witt the same day and year Comes the said William Cambell in Custody of the
Sherr of Somersett County into whose Custody before that time was Committed for the Cause afd
and the said William Cambell being by the sherr sett to the Barr (Indictment read) is thereupon
Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd as by the Indictment afd is
supposed against him says that of the premisses afd as by the Indictm.t above is Imposed upon him be
in no ways guilty thereof and thereof for tryall putts himselfe upon the Country and Levin Gale who for
said Lordship in this Behalfe Prosecutes Likewise &c
                Thereupon Command is given to the sherr of Somersett County that Immediately he Cause
to Come here twelve &c by whom &c who Neither &c to recognize &c because as well &c of which said preceipt
the said the said sherr to witt Joseph MccClester makes return that he hath here ready twelve &c as by his
preceipt he was Commanded and the Jurors therein Impannelled being Called Came to witt; Edward Round
William Handy Joseph Houston, Daniell Cordery, Giddion Tilman, Richard Philips John Nicholson
John Scarbrough, William Richardson John Gillett, John Pitts George Benston who being
duly Elected tryed and sworn to say the truth in the premises upon their oath doe say that the said W.m
Cambell is guilty of the premisses as by the Indictmt above is Imposed upon him &c
       Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said William Cambell be whipt ^on the bear Back^ at the publick
whiping post with thirty Nine Lashes well Laid on untill the blood appear and to stand in the
pillowry six houres and that he taken &c and thereupon as to the Corporall punishm.t afd Command
is given to the sherr of Somersett County that he do thereof Immediatly Execution according to the
Judgm.t afd Rendered by whiping the afd William Cambell at the publick whiping post with thirty
Nine Lashes on the Bare Back well Laid on untill the blood appear and by sitting him in the pillowry
six hours afterwards in the same Court the sherr Returns that he hath done the Execution of the Judgment
afd as afd he was Commanded  Whereupon It's ordered by the Court that the sherr of Somersett
County take the said William Cambell into his Custody and him return to his Mistress the wife of Capt Jno
Dolenson if she will receive him but if she will not receive him but renounceth and disclaimeth any
Right to him & if Noe other person appears to Lay Claim to the said Cambell that then ^he^ the said sherr
is hereby ordered to give due Notice and at some place by him to be appointed to dispose and make
sale of the said W.m Cambell to the bigest Bidder not Exceeding seven years and when the same he
hath so done to make report thereof to this Court to reemburst to the County the fees due upon the premisses afd &c

John Fleming brings a negro Girle into Court Called Nancy and prays the approbation of the Court
Concerning the age of the said Negro Called Nancy   thereupon the Court are of opinion and doe
adjudge the said Negro Girle to be of the age of six years &c
