1724 185 of full age as afd and as in duty Bound he shall pray &c John Farrell The petition afd being Read and heard and Likewise the Court having heard what a Certain Will.m Fasitt of Somersett County delivered upon Oath in Relation to the age of the said John Farrell and the premisses being fully understood and maturally deliberated as well on the part of the afd Nathaniell Hopkins as on the part of the said petitioner &c Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the afd Petitioner John Farrell from his servitude afd go thereof acquitt &c as by the pet.n afd is praid Whereas it was Represented to this Court by John Handy of Somersett County Gentl: that a Certain James Hardy of Somersett County had a Servant that by some means became Lame or ailing that he Could not Labour and the said James Hardy had discharged the said servant from out of his service and no body to take Care of ^him so that^ he was Likely to become a Charge to the County &c thereupon It's ordered by the Court that the sherr of Somersett County somons the said James Hardy so that he be & appear before the Justices of the next Court to be held at Dividing Creek for the County afd the third tuesday of June to answer &c Att which said next Court to witt the sixteenth day of June ann Dom One thousand seven hundred & twenty five Comes the said sherr and makes Return that he had sumoned ^the said James Hardy^ according to the order afd Whereupon the said James Hardy present here in Court ^was^ demanded by ^the same Court^ of him what was the reason that he discharged his servant afd from out of the his service afd he likely to be a Charge to ye County &c the said James Hardy having Nothing to Offer that was Materiall in his own defence &c thereupon the said James Hardy is ordered by the Justices here that he take his said servant Called Patrick Shield into his Service again untill the Expiration of his servitude and Likewise to reemburst to the County what should be Expended upon the said Patrick Shield &c
within the Jurisdiction of the Court in and upon a Certain Bitch of the price of ten shillings Curr.t mony the proper Bill of a Certain John Donelson then and there being with force and armes violently and Wickedly an assault made with Intention with the afd Bitch most wickedly feloniously and against the Order of Nature then and there to have acted a Lecherous thing & the said Bitch Carnally to Know and so with the said Bitch that horrible and so do in the reall Sin Called Bugery then & there feloniously to Committ and perpetrate and other harmes to the said Bitch then and there did doe against the peace of the said Lord prory his good rule & dignity &c L Gale P Dom Propr One the Back of the foregoeing Bill of Indictm.t it was thus Endorst viz.t Billa vera W.m Turpin for^e^man Thereupon Command was given to the sherr of Somersett County that he should take the said William Cambell if &c to answer &c and afterwards (in) |
