Aprill Court
1723 of one People within Our said County in all and Every the articles therein Exprest according to the form force and Effect of the same and to Chastize and Punish all or any Person or persons Offending against any the said Ordinances or Statutes according to the directions thereof and to Call Before you or any of you all those who in Our County afd shall threatten to do any Bodily harm to any of Our good people or to burn their houses or Otherwise break Our Peace and misbehave themselves to find suficient Security of the Peace of the Peace and good Beheaviour to us and Our good People and if they shall refuse to find such Security then you Cause them to be Committed into Safe Custody untill they shall find the same also wee have assigned you and Every three or more of you of whom wee Will you the said Charles Ballard Joseph Gray Samuel Hopkins and William Whittington or One of you always to be one Our Justices to Esquire by the Oaths of good and Lawfull men of Our County afd by whom the truth of the Promisses may be ^the^ Better known of all and all manner of felonys Witch Crafts Enchantmts sorceries acts Magick Trespasses Engrosings Repeatings forestallings and Extortions whatsoever and of all and all other Misfeazance and offences whatsoever of which Justices of Our Peace Lawfully may or Ought to Enquire by whomsoever or how soever in Our County afd done or COmmitted or which hereafter may happen to be done or attempted and alsoe all those who in Our County afd in Riotous Manner have gone or rode or shall hereafter presume to goe or ride with armed force against Our Peace to the disturbance of Our People and of all such who is in Our County afd have Lain or shall hereafter Presume to Lay in wait to maim or Kill any of Our Said People and also of all Ordinary Keepers and such Other persons who have Offended or attempted to offend or hereafter shall presume or offend or attempt to Offend in the abuse of weights and measures or in selling of any Lyquors according to the form of the act of assembly for the Common good and Profitt now in this Province made and used and also of the sherr Bayliffs Constables and Other Officers who have and shall hereafter Misbehave themselves in the Execution of their Offices or have been fearfull Remise or Negligent in the Execution thereof or shall hereafter happen or to be within Our County afd and of all and Every the articles matters and things whatsoever howsoever or by whomsoever in Our County afd done or Committed or that shall hereafter happen to be done or attempted Conveying the Premises or any of them or to Inspect all Indictments so before you or any of you taken or to be taken or before Our Late of the Peace within our said County had and taken and not yett detaynied and Process the [illegible] all and or any person or persons so Indicted or which shall hereafter happen to be Indicted Our County afd to make and Continue untill they shall be taken surrender themselves to be [illegible] and to hear and determine all and Every the fellonys witchcrafts Enchantments sorceries arts Magick Trespasses forestallings regratings Engroseings Riotts Indictments and all other the matter afd according to the Laws of great Brittain and this Our Province has and used or to be had and Used and ye said delinquents and Every of them to Chastize and Punish by fines Ransoms amerciaments and Otherwise according to ye said Laws and Customs of ye said Kingdome of great Britain (and) |
