17 Allen being now present herein Court acknowledged his Error and Beggs Pardon for the same affront and abuse afd given which is according granted &a
ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty two at Coventry Parish in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court with force and arms &.c in and upon a Certain Elizabeth Calvert in the Peace of God &.c then and there being an assault he did make and her ye said Eliz.a then and there did Beat wound ^and^ Evilly Intreat so that after Life it was dispaired and other harms to her the said Eliz.a then and there did to ye great Damage of the said Eliz.a and ag.t ye Peace One the Mocon of W.m Tazewell Cl of Indictments ye Court Tazewell P Lopp approves of this Bill Alex.d Hall Clk Test Elizabeth Calvert On the Back of the foregoeing Bill it was thus Endorst vizt Ignoramus James Rounds foreman The Court adjourns untill the third tuesday of Aprill next Being the thirtieth day of the Same Month Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty three Att which said third tuesday of Aprill to witt the thirtieth day of the same Month Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty three Comes againe his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Sommersett County at Dividing Creek being the Eight year of his said Lordships Dominion &c
Whereupon the following Commission is Produced to the Court here viz.t Maryland ss Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c To Charles Ballard Joseph Gray Samuell Hopkins William Whittington William Planner John Purnell John Jones William Fausitt John Smith of Baltemore hundred William Stoughton John MccChester John Handy and James Dashiell of Somrsett County Gentlemen greeting Know yee that wee have assigned you and Every of you Joyntly and Severally Our Justices to Keep Our Peace within Our County of Somrsett and to make and Cause to be Kept all Ordinances and statutes as well of that Part of the Kingdom of greatt Brittain Called England as of this Our Province of maryland for the good and Consideration of the Peace and Quiet rule and Governm.t (of) |
