and did acknowledge herselfe to owe and be Indebted to his Lordship the sum of five pounds Curr.t money due to be Levied on her goods and Chattels Lands and tenements for the use of his said Lordship The Condition of which Recognizance is such that if Hannah Fords do doe make her personall appearance before the Justices of our Said County Court to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of march next to give Evidence ag.t Richard Driskill of the said County on Behalfe of his said Lordship then this Recognizance to be void Els to remain in full force & vertue in Law Jno Handy Whereupon the said Hannah Fords altho's Solemnly Called Comes not but makes default &c Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the afd Recognizance of five pounds Curr.t money so as afd Entered into by the said Hannah Fords be forfeited & that the same become due to the said Lord proprietary afd and to his use &c to be levied &c Whereupon it is Rendered to this Court that there is two Bridges Over the Braces at the head of wickacomoco River in Somersett County very much Empaired and are dangerous for travellers the one Called Long bridge & the other the Cyprus Bridge &c and whereas a Certain Lewis Disharoone & Henry Toadvine both of Somersett County present here in Court, the Justices do agree with them the said Henry Toadvine & Lewis Disharoon to build Erect and Compleat one over Each Branch good & substantiall Bridge over Each Branch the said Bridges to be Nine foott wide the fains to be made of good Cypruss & to be Laid with good Cypruss Plank two Inch thick to be well trunneled down, the said Bridges to be archt Every ten foot and to be well Braced with good Braces &c The said Bridges to be finisht and done by the Last day of October next Ensueing In consideration of which work (if well done) the said Lewis Disharoon and Henry Toadvine is top have the Sum of five thousand pounds of tobacco to be paid at the Laying of the COunty Levy next
Morris would deliver up unto him the said Somersett Dickenson what few Creatures, that is Cattle and hoggs and Other Substance he was possessed with all that then he the said Somersett Dickenson would find and provided for him all such Necessarys as would be sufficient for him to have and wear dureing his transitory Life &c Whereupon the said Cornelius Morris delivered the same up unto the said Somersett Dickenson But since that the said Somersett refuses & delays to Comply with the agreemt afd Between them made &c (these) |
