(160) By the said Fasitt to a small Red Oak Bloan Down & Marked with Notches within a few Nearto ye said Edmond Crappers House where he now Liveth ye said Alexander Being byers the subscribers Examined again upon his Oath what he Knew in Relation to ye Marking of the said red oak sayeth that he Left them when he Caried ye Chane as afsd Before they Came to that place but remembers that before he Left Carying ye Chane that they Marked hickory for a Line tree ye said William Turvill one of the defendants afsd Being present acknowledgeth Before ye said Fasitt & Craper that att ye time ye said Land Called Mayfeild was surveyd By the said Wrixham White that ye Land adjoyning to Mayfeild Now possest by the sd Craper was then In his possession & the last Bounder of Mayfield Being demolished that the thought through ye Instigation of ye said Fasitt Consented to Mark ye said red Oak for ye last Bounder of Mayfield ye said red Oak Bloan down as afsd Being Near ten paces to ye west of a Large dead white Oak Bending Eastward & About a Quarter of a Molato South west from an Orchard (said ^to be^ planted by the said William Turvill) of aple trees Given under our hands this Fourth day of May in ye Eighth year of his Lordships dominion Annoq Domy 1724 Robert Martin Adam Spence Senr
himselfe and securitys from the same recognizance of Bail Entered into for his appearance this Court &c Whereupon the said Joy hobbs appearance is Recorded and he accordingly discharged thereupon It's Ordered by the Court that the said Joy Hobbs give New Recognizance for his good beheaviour and appearance at next Court &c Thereupon the said Joy Hobbs present here in Court acknowledged himself to owe and stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary his heires and successors in the sum of ten pounds sterr to be Levied on his Body goods or Chattels Lands or tenements for the Use of his said Lordship in Case the said Joy Hobbs do not make his personall appearance before the Justices of Our County Court to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of June next to answer unto his Lordship Concerning all such matters and things the Judgm.t of the Court thereupon and not to depart the Court without Lycence thereof and in the mean time to be of good behaviour to all his Lordships Leige People & more Especially the people Called the Indians &c
world and it being a burthen to pay taxes pray it may be Considered by the Court that I may be tax free and as in duty Bound shall Ever pray Thomas Wilson the petition afd being read & heard and the premisses Considered It's ordered by the Court that (the) |
